BlizzCon Opening Ceremony and Tournaments - Free Live Streams

BlizzCon 2011 begins tomorrow, and you’ll be able to watch the opening ceremony and the action on the World of Warcraft and RTS tournament stages streaming for free at www.blizzcon.com/live-stream/. DIRECTV subscribers in the U.S. can also catch the opening ceremony for free on the Audience Network. Pre-show coverage begins Friday at 10:30 a.m. Pacific, and the opening ceremony is scheduled to start at 11 a.m.. Tournaments run throughout both days of the show -- check out the BlizzCon schedule for details.

If you’re interested in watching these in high-def and getting over 50 hours of BlizzCon coverage, including developer panels, the costume contest, the closing concert with Foo Fighters, and more, you can still purchase a BlizzCon Virtual Ticket, which also includes this year's World of Warcraft pet and to-be-revealed StarCraft II in-game gift. The Virtual Ticket also lets you watch on-demand replays of any coverage you might have missed.

Yeah I'm really pumped some of it is free. I can't really justify $40 with my tuition bills, but this way I can get a peak of the action! Thanks Blizz!

As for the people bummed that they bought a ticket: I'm sure it's worth it. You get to see all the panels and interviews on your own time and not miss anything!

Yeah ... I'm thrilled that they're doing it ... but ... I mean - seriously? - If I'd have known, I wouldn't have bought the Virtual Ticket ... now they're giving away the Opening Ceremony.
Oh .. well, I just looked at the schedule, and it's changed to show that the ceremony's only an hour. Earlier in the week, it was blocked in for about four hours.

Strattac ... you should wait until tomorrow at 1030am PST. The Con hasn't started yet.

As a poor college student I can't afford the virtual ticket so I think it's pretty sweet that y'all are letting us watch the opening ceremony and the tourneys for free. I won't have to hear EVERYTHING second hand xD

Awesome thanks for offering the free streams blizzard! I still think it's going to be worth it to order the virtual ticket though, I"m gonna do that tonight. Can't wait to see what the starcraft 2 special item is!
