Diablo III™

Coming Soon: Battle.net Balance

Coming Soon: Battle.net Balance

Soon, we’ll be introducing a new feature called Battle.net Balance that will give players an alternate way to purchase Blizzard products and services directly through their Battle.net account. Players will be able to “charge up” their Battle.net Balance using a variety of payment methods, and then use their Battle.net Balance to buy services like World of Warcraft character transfers, digital products like pets and mounts, and more. Players will also be able to use their Battle.net Account Balance to buy items and store their earnings from Diablo III’s currency-based auction house once the game is released.

We’ll be rolling out the new Battle.net Balance feature in the weeks ahead -- but in the meantime, check out our Battle.net Balance FAQ to find out more about how it’s going to work.

Uhh? Is blizzard turning into a digital country or something? lol...feel like I'm gonna have to get citizenship just to play or something...but maybe it will work out Live instead of how it sounds in text

Don't create a market... How can that be a balance when somebody has the choice of buying items? Who is the richest... literally.

@Deadlie: It won't matter because Blizzard said that you won't be able to buy items with real money in Hardcore and that PVP isn't going to be competitive. Cry me a river and find a better excuse.

Hey how about letting us buy "game time" and other Blizzard products (vanity pets, t-shirts, etc..) with game gold? Now there's a thought....

@Purplepanda: it should all be one currency and be worth while ie: i have a lot of gold in wow, trade it in for a copy of D3 or money to use on RMAH in D3 and vice versa, and i should be able to add money to this account via paypal, and in store cards instead of the prepaid wow time cards, and heres a bonus like purplepanda said take advice from EVE online money made off of the AH real or gold money should be able to go towards wow game time, otherwise ill never reactivate my wow account ever again, since there would be nothing to work towards

so its different ways to "build up money" or something? so i can buy stuff from blizzard and pay for more play time... also once you get the RMAH synced to it, then i can use my real money from d3 to buy stuff from blizzard... lol.

And here I clicked on the link thinking it was about class balance.

I guess if the RMAH works like this, then maybe my D3 time can help me save money on buying WOW time at least.

So many stores: Steam, Origin, D2D, Blizz and so on. I hope Microsoft do something about this and bring one game store for windows 8. I am tired of making billion accounts for every game I buy from different company. Make things unified, it's more convenient.

I think about my momney and my time lately and if I fork over $60 to play a game...thats enough money out of my pocket for something thats a virtual product. I can't see how people spends hundreds of dollars and hours wasting thier lives away when you could be saving for something that you could buy like a Barrett sniper rifle or a nice Raptor Ford pickup...so I'm saying buying a cute little vitual pet to bring out in game for $10 isn't only stupid...its an embarrassment.

@xXOBLIVIONXx: I'm liking the sniper rifle and pickup truck option. I might just save up for both! :D

@xXOBLIVIONXx: Dude you can choose to put money on or not...also they will have a certain amount of free auctions each week so in logic you don't even have to pay for any of the money you make in the game lol

So you can't really make money off D3 items then. It's just a way to siphon more money in, and make a little macroeconomy,

At least this appeases my worries of farmers breaking the game too much, since they can't make any direct money off of items.

@Zeraphil: When you sell an item on the Diablo III Auction house you will have the option to deposit the money into your Battle.net Balance OR transfer the money through a real money source such as PayPal, for a small fee. If you choose to deposit the money into your Battle.net Balance, you will NEVER be able to transfer that transaction into real money.

Hmmm only being able to cash out on individual item sales is really dumb... but on the positive side, maybe it will cause the RMAH to be a horrendous failure and Blizz will scrap it.

@Kakey: I agree. I guess I'll just have to buy something in the RMAH and immediately sell it using the PayPal option. Why they can't do this directly using the PayPal + fee option, I don't know.
