GDDR5 is based on DDR3.
GDDR3 is based on DDR2.
GDDR5 is faster and carries more bandwidth than GDDR3.
GDDR3 and DDR2 are outdated and most recent graphics cards use GDDR5 anyway.

GDDR5 is capable of much higher clock speeds and is usually paired with a much higher memory bus but there are a few GPUs that have both.
GDDR5 will allow for much higher memory transfer speeds on the same bus as GDDR3. This matter the most for higher resolution textures, AA and of course higher resolution gameplay as GDDR3 will start to bottleneck a GPU.
