Why low dps Calamity with near 50% weapon damage, 100% crit damage and empty Socket can still fetch good price in the AH.
It is basically because of this:
Philos has enchanted his Lvl 60 Calamity's dps and has been using it for quite sometime until he found a Lvl70 Calamity. He has also enchanted his Mempo. So quickly buy one if you do not have one.
You can find plenty of interesting information by watching his stream.
He is one of the great DH who is still streaming everyday, while others have quit or lack of followers.
you cant dual wield the two? I would have thought it was like Legacy and Vanilla Nats marks
I'm 90% sure i've seen people DW Legacy and New, might have been transmog. I would need to test and don't have one, but apparently they were saying you can still use New to Proc MFD from your skill bar AND proc the MFD from Legacy to stack them.

one more while we are on it, maybe you guys know
the item that reduces #items to get set bonuses.. can I roll 21% crit total from having only 1 item from each Nat set?
1 legacy mark
1 vanilla boots
1 RoS helm
and get 7% on each?
and doesn't this mean you can roll L3N and RoS4N and get 4pc and 5 pc together?
that would be +20 max dis 2/sec and RoV cd reduction?
You can get 2pc bonus x4 until they fix the bug?

= (+130 dex +7%) x4 = +520 dex +28% chc

And if I remember correctly that ring has these affixes

*new nat* is horrible...
The ring will be recognized as another item for the set as well as another set with all completed bonus. Don't have that ring to test so it's my assumption.
*note* I do not support re-rolling legacy Calamity. It feels like an exploit.
btw I just found an error on the stuff I wrote on #13. I wrote -2 sec with the set bonus when it should have been -1 sec. And my previous post wasn't asking a question, maybe I should edit... I was indicating the 'bug' some one told me the effect was 'working as intended'
i rerolled a near perfect calamity from vanilla and this is what i got above after getting a near perfect dmg reroll.
i don't think it's bis however. i recently switched out of it after finding a level 70 leg that lets me use frost arrows as my main hatred generator. it really breaks the game when you pair that with frost burns which gives you 50% chance to freeze. :-)
Got to love your Calamity. It just does not make sense a lvl70 2h is so much weaker than an enchanted lvl60 calamity aside from its dex and bonus element. Minus 9,1% damage. That max weapon dmg of 10% is an insult. Manticore has 50% as a lvl 60 weapon and crit dmg. ???

Yes, I can confirm this works (at least on PTR).
I'd also like to bring up the point that the calamity re-roll may be bugged right now. I looks to me like it's rolling significantly higher than it should be, relative to other weapons that I've seen on the PTR.
Mempos on the other hand... will definitely still be best in slot if you prefer high attack speed builds (unless there's items we haven't seen yet).
Even if the tool tip says -10% dps, the new one wins by a huge margin because of the MfD bonus. It's 20% on all mobs that you hit all the time, not the really weak occasional proc that you get from the old one.
If you're using mortal enemy, you can even afford to take a larger hit on paper DPS because your effective DPS will actually increase because of your increased ability to spam hatred spenders.
For example, with a new calamity I can spam cluster arrows constantly if there's a large enough group (keep in mind that I have -10 to cluster arrow cost and -17% resources). The long and short of it is that the hatred return is incredibly strong, dare I say, possibly too strong.
In some initial tests, it looks to me that the new calamity + mortal enemy combo makes ball lightning tend to return more hatred than when using a Kridershot (for those of you who dont know, that's the bow that makes elemental arrow generate 3 hatred instead of cost 10).
For myself, the main reason why I take calamity over any other weapon is not only the huge DPS, but the attack speed. For my T1/T2 speed farming, I need the attack speed to maximize my shots per kill over a period of time.
How many rerolls did it take to get that Min/Max damage...im on my 5th try atm
