Diablo® III

Magic find, quality or quantity?

I have always read that magic find only effects the quanity of drops not their quality. A friend who has been playing far longer and who plays far more says it is confirmed 100% that it is quality that is now changed.

Which is correct?

it depends on your definition of quality.

magic find won't give you more drops, but it increases the chance that whites become yellow, yellow become legendary etc, does not affect the actual stats rolled on the drops. Thing is, this makes it look like there's more drops, because generally, gold/pots/whites/greys (and even blues/yellows to a certain point) are ignored as drops - so yes, it will look like more legendaries drop (because it's true..) but in terms of total drops, there's no change.

Or something to that effect ^_^
