4 unity rings and Asheara walk into a bar [quad-unity™]

So someone posted this over in the WD forums.

If you had the 4 piece Asheara's set and each companion has a unity ring, would you have more than the 50% mitigation from the unity trick?

Summons all 3 companions out

Unity + undying relic gives you 50% mitigation.

I was just curious if there was an answer.

1.) There are 3 followers.
2.) If it gave you more than 50%, you would have 87.5%

+50%
+50% of 50 + 50 = 75%
+50% of 25 + 75 = 87.5%

No, you will not be invincible, at least as far as I can tell. I have not done this on a WD, however I have tested it with Follower+IK set+CotA Together as One rune which is a flat 100% dmg mitigation by simply adding up the numbers. However, in game it does not work out this way. There seems to be diminishing returns on the flat % reduction to damage. By the "feels" of it, not really hard data, the 100% reduction through unity and the skill were more like 75% dmg reduction. Still great mitigation, but the ancients themselves die off rather fast.

Wouldn't the damage taken by your followers just be added to you then?

Not with the immortal relics.

With you wearing a Unity ring and having one follower, damage is split and you receive 50% damage and your follower receives 50% damage.

If you have two followers with Unity rings and Asheara set, damage is split between you and two followers so each of you receive 33.33% damage.

If you have all three followers with Unity rings and Asheara set, damage is split between you and three followers so each of you receive 25% damage.

So would that mean you gain 75% damage mitigation with 3 companions out, vs just 50% with one companion? Has this been officially confirmed someplace?

Also my zDPS monk would LOVE this benefit:

I have 25 mil toughness with my barbarian buddy's buff. If this quad-unity™ trick works, I'd probably never die in T6.

Have you tested this while in a group? Im sure blizzard wouldn't allow this to work in groups, unless they not that smart to see this coming O_o.

I haven't tested this personally, and after doing some searching there is conflicting reports about whether or not the followers summoned by the Asheara's set benefit from the Unity trick.

I've read everywhere that followers from Asheara's can't share your Unity bonus

Unity does not work at all with followers summoned by asheara's.

One of those lovely hidden mechanics Blizzard doesnt tell you about.

Crud, I thought this was really going to be a joke, not a discussion. Somebody please finish the joke started in the title!

Tested out one of the new Legendary gems on PTR, the one that when ranked up makes your pets invulnerable. I used the same CotA setup as I discussed above and it is rather impressive!

I don't think it works...though could be wrong, I tested not asharea's but rings that gave everyone +magick find, and unfortunetly, I didn't get magick find from all 3 when they appeared. So not sure what, or if anything on them carry over when summoned, least gear wise.
