Possible. Would you give up SOJ/RORG/Unity/BK/etc for that stune ring tho? Using paralysis and that ring is redundant imo.

At very least I was hoping for some additional minor number adjustments for Meteor and Orb already, this shouldn't require too much effort on their side.

Not too sure about channeling spells yet, but I'm excited for Disintegrate fire rune and lightning Arcane Torrent.

No idea why of all electrocute runes they have decided to make forked lightning a fire one.

It's kind of funny how changing a skill to fire is the biggest buff you can give it. At last there will be something to play around with on PTR though.

How about a strong ramp at the beginning tapering off?

So like, 250% for the first second, 200% for the 2nd, 150% for the 3rd, 100% for the 4th, 50% for the 5th, 0% from the 6th second onwards?

Total bonus damage 750% so, with the new values topping out at around ~1100-1200% wd/s. not overpowered, but still gives the feeling of becoming more powerful over time?

i think lightning will be better because of the stun, even if the chance isnt that great, wand of woh triples it. + thundergods vigor + thunderstorm. so lots of chances to stun. there is also a legendary gem that increases dmg against CCed targets, and the new thunderstorm increases the lightning dmg taken by another 20%.

and gearing lightning is easy plus you have lots of options for your offhand/helm/bracer/chest. aughilds set, triumv, oculus, strongarm bracers, stun dmg reduce bracers.

they also increased the dmg of blackhole to 1290% lightning dmg

You should feel stronger as you ramp, therefore a SHORT intial burst ramp is going to be frowned upon and stutter stepping will be rampant.

Channeling is a huge disadvantage/penalty since your standing still and not moving!

Blizz should be doing everything they can to promote the use of it by making it much more attractive in everyway possible.

I can see no legitimate reason to further punish people for standing still. There's punishment enough.

you're not going to be punished for standing still though, you get a benefit, just you don't ramp up to insane levels if somehow you get someone to tank for you.

starting at say 400% wd/s, ramping up 450% in the first 2 seconds will let you burst down trash.

but in longer fights with elites, you might be able (with some help from a party member, follower, etc) to stand still for 6 seconds in order to get your full 1150%... Note that standing still for 2s is perfectly feasible most of the time, and it will get you to around the same damage as the current ramp...

Glad they're not wiping characters this time around, got a sweet star of azkaranth on test I want to keep using.

Really looking forward to testing some of these changes, but probably won't be able to until tomorrow. :(

None of these changes seem particularly game changing for wizards. Just small buffs to spells that were hardly ever used.

Hopefully Lightning Storm's debuff will stack when cast by different Wizards and their Mirror Images, otherwise losing Static Pulse will work out to be a pretty big nerf. They're going to need to look into decreasing/removing the damage degradation on Electrocute as well, Velvet+Ball users who want to stay with lightning are going to cry bloody murder if Forked gets switched to fire.

Everything else looks promising though. Would be nice to see arcane Disintegrate runes get a little more help. Surprised that meteor and AO didn't get anything, both skills are still poop. It doesn't make any sense that they'd buff EB by a huge amount but do nothing for Molten Impact. Cold could still use a bit more help as well.
