It's listed under hatred generators but it says it cost 2 hatred per second ?

I actually wouldn't be surprised if that's not a bug. You probably generate more than 2 hatred a second naturally, so you'll still generate hatred while casting it. Probably kind of a similar thing with the golden rune for Ray of Frost on Wizards, you can technically replace a signature spell with it since you'll still gain AP while using it even though it costs you 3 AP/sec.

Also the passive that reduces the hatred cost of grenades is still there, even though grenades generate hatred now. =P

Maybe it's both a generator and a spender. It sounds like a channeled ability. Maybe your initial use of the skill generates hatred, but prolonged use would start the 2 hatred per second drain. It's not a big deal for me because I was going to use a trap build anyway, so I wasn't interested in this skill.

You kidding me? Strafe would make an excellent trapper skill! It lets you do free damage while you run around leading the enemies near and through your traps.

But you can only "run" at 65% movement speed while Strafe is active. With Chains of Torment Sentries, I'll want more mobility.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Blizzard giving Demon Hunters a 'free' skill that neither builds, nor depletes resource.
