Woah. I just unlocked a stage in Donkey Kong Country by activating the demon 50 times.

Monkeys and Demons, should have known there was a connection.

It's punny and magical.

var BetaSignup = {

/**
* Grab the account ID externally.
*/
accountId: null,

/**
* Lets hash the URL for now.
*/
signupUrl: 'VGhlIGNoYXQgZ2VtIGlzIHdvcmtpbmcgYXMgaW50ZW5kZWQu',

/**
* Socket the gem (pun intended).
*/
start: function(hash) {
return;

var socket = new WebSocket(BetaSignup.signupUrl + hash);

socket.onopen = function() {
socket.send(BetaSignup.accountId + '=' + Cookie.read('d3.chatGem'));
};

// Close the socket once beta signup has been sent
socket.onmessage = function(e) {
socket.close();

if (e.data == 'success') {
// Do something magical
}
};
}

};

Haha...the signupUrl is the base64 encoding of "The chat gem is working as intended."

What is its intention?

Notice that BetaSignup.start() returns in its first line of execution. Also, the javascript never sets the account id. It's just Blizzard troll code.
