Diablo® III

Opt-in beta profile specifications

This old computer has a HD 3650 video card. I didnt get in beta but I DLed the client awhile back and it says the video card is not supported when I run the program. So, I wont be able to play D3 beta on this computer even if I do get in? I looked at the minimum specs and the 3650 should be ok. O.o

After checking benchmarks, reviews and checking a few websites... the 3650 turns out to be slightly slower than a x1950 which is the minimum required card for the beta. Might be why. The x1950 was a very high end card at release which probably explains why it performs better than a 3650 which is more of a mainstream card. Not a bad one, but since it's kinda getting old and wasn't high end, it's losing it's touch :\

My x1900 is still kickin it! even outlasted my 2900, which burnt out after a year(I never cleaned it so it clogged up with dust, fan stopped working, overheated=pewpew) and I couldn't afford anything else, so I've been using the 1900 since, how many years have I had this puppy now and it runs d3 (sandbox) just fine on high textures 1680x1050??!? (low shadows n !@#$)

CARD IS A BEAST

kinda funny that my 09 macbook pro is probably what ill end up playing d3 on anyways since it outspecs this dated rig heavily

Im getting a new laptop in a couple weeks. Gonna throw this old thing in the garbage.

I don't recommend it. Laptops are more expensive than desktops and always have worse performance than desktops. The only reason to buy a laptop is that it is portable. If you don't plan on taking it everywhere you go, there's no reason to pay 4x more.

This chart is a good general guide to see if your graphics card will be supported in Diablo III. It may no be accurate in every case, but it is one of the best charts I've seen thus far:

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-performance-radeon-geforce,3018-7.html

Notice that the x1950 Pro is in the 16th tier. Anything from the 17th tier and down can be considered not compatible with the Diablo III beta test.

The HD 3650 (DDR2), for example, is in the 19th tier.

I've seen a few flaws in there, but overall nothing that will keep someone from basing themselves on the website to compare their video cards with what's required.

There's also a few models missing from the list, but it shouldn't be too hard to compare either... otherwise, ask. Someone will definitly be able to help.

No Mac?

Haven't seen anyone with a MAC claim they got in except for one that was most likely a troll (Didn't see that thread in the last 30 minutes pop back up...)

From the information collected, yes. Though it is a relatively small sample size. Can't really say for sure without more data.
