@ 4:08 Jay Wilson is talking about in hardcore, if the decision is made by Blizzard that characters don't die in the arena, Jay wants to put "some place you can go in the world where you are flagged for PVP" So the hardcore players still have a chance to "duel" aka kill each other.


What I am asking is they do this or something like it for normal players! There is a small amount of us out there that want to battle real world. I am hoping Blizzard will see this is put it in the game somehow.

Many players are glad hostile is gone but I am not one of them. I just want the Option to battle or a place to go where like minds can duke it out whenever we want. It would make for more exciting play. Or a PVE or PVP option for your character when you create him/her in order to have the option to battle

They should just make it so both people agree to being hostile before it's affective. Problem solved.

Yes that is true too. I just want the option. See that would be an awesome idea if they would just be open to it but so many people hear hostile and shutter. It doesn't have to be a bad thing. If agreed apon by both parties it can be very enjoyable

Is Jay Wilson the same Jay Wilson for which a slime was named after in Ultima online because he gave it a bad review?

I agree, there should be some type of pvp aspect to normal worlds. This was really wonderful because you wouldn't have to join an 'arena' for pvp. You just toggle hostile and kill each other.

But as to whether or not they will implement this feature, Jay Wilson seems pretty firm on keeping pvp separate.

Oh well, maybe later on in a patch.

Its the latest news we have on PVP. And now with 4-6 months added to the release I am sure they could add some small features. It would just complete the game. It's all I am asking for.

Thats the thing. Blizzard Listens to its customers. They actually care. So if enough people want it, blizzard will deliver. That is the hope. That is the point I am trying to make here. It can be done and if we want it, they would do something to please us like they always have.

No. Early in UO's history, it was possible to encounter a slime that was renamed to "jwilson," which was purportedly named after magazine editor Johnny Wilson, who had given Ultima Online a bad review and thus earned a derisive place in the game by the developers.
