I have heard there was a beta with the WHOLE game, then there was the usually im guessing "public" beta which features only the act 1. The only people that probably can answer this is blizzard.

There aren't two distinct clients, at least not quite. The internal testers have a constantly updated build that unlocks the rest of the game. The external testers (us) have the limited build that is only updated intermittently.

- Yes, Blizzard has an internal beta that covers the entire length and breadth of the game.

- No, the public does not have access to this build of the game.

- And, yes, the internal beta has pretty much always been several steps ahead of the public "stress test".

None of that should be at all surprising.

so then why take so long shouldnt they be releasing based on the internal tests except for the stress test on the servers which shouldnt be too hard for blizz's proggramers to fix imo

Can someone help unravel OP's train wreck of a run-on there?

I think he's asking why the game's not released yet... in which case that's because it's not ready. If that's not what he was asking then he's probably going to need to learn punctuation and come back to us.

I really don't care about punctuation. I do enogh caring about it when im in class at the community college. But since you seem to I'll put it like this, when they do finally decide to release the game, will it be released based on how far the internal test is, or will it be based off the external test? I know they can't stress test the servers internally, simply just because they don't have enough people to test it in that way.

Oh, the irony...

So you care enough about communicating to ask questions and seek answers to them, but you don't care enough to actually be understood when you communicate?

The reasoned answer is that the release will be based on both tests. The internal test is designed to catch and correct bugs in gameplay, and the external stress test is for compatibility and server health. When both of those are complete, then the game should function as the developers want it to and Battle.net will not implode when we all try to log on.

And that's when the game will be released.

I would imagine the internal testers catch more bugs than the public beta testers by a long shot.

Luckily for us this is a good thing :)

Blizzard are internally testing the entire game. Since the game is still in the Beta phase of development for them too, then yes, there is a second Beta, yes it is better than the one we have access to.

Think of it this way: They are testing the ACTUAL game internally. Players in the community with testing Beta access are given a simple incentive to be logged onto the games servers, so that stress testing can occur.

We aren't testing the game. We seem to think we are. It's an illusion. We're given a squeaky toy to squeeze while the grown ups conduct their study.
