From the crafting page..
What do the artisans offer?
..but on the jeweler's page, no such ring/amulet recipe is mentioned. Yeah, yeah, I know everything is subject to change, and nothing is final, etc. It looks like the crafting of rings/amulets has been axed as it seems like this answer on the crafting page's FAQ is no longer correct. Note that it also says the blacksmith adds sockets, when it's now apparently the jeweler.
Are the jeweler full capabilities still undecided? Sorry in advance if this was clarified already; I just wanted to see if anyone had any insight.
I was wondering this too, and took a look. If you look at the Jeweler in the game guide, and then click "View all craftable item types" the Jeweler shows that he crafts amulets and the Mystic crafts rings. The quote from the crafting FAQ is quite old, considering how long ago they axes charms so I assume that is simply not up to date with the game guide.
I am interested to see a final list of artisan uses, but as you have pointed out there isn't exactly consistent info on it yet.
It says 'View all socketable item types' for the Jeweler and 'View all enhanceable item types' for the Mystic. This does shed a little light that it seems no item will be both socketable and enhanceable--just one or the other (i'd never really paid much attention to these pages til you pointed out those links; good catch). And it will be cool to socket amulets (and enhance rings) if in fact this information is correct and stays in the game. I'd still like to be able to craft jewelry, but I think Blizz is leaning against that. I suppose it would diminish some of the allure of any ring/amulet drop if you could just craft one, regardless of how hard the recipe/design/plan may be to find or how the level requirement might be. I remember in D2 jewelry always being so special; you'd always ID even blue rings/amulets, because some prismatic/leech or whatever would definitely be worth keeping. I guess it'll be the same way in D3.
Something to consider though - the recipe lists are not complete by any means (just check for uses for the legendary material from nightmare/hell...there isn't one!) So although there isn't any way to figure out who if anybody crafts this items at current, perhaps that is what legendary materials are for?
