Cutting out a system for further customization that's already implemented and then taking it out is a complete waste of time. It was a extra customization? Why would you take options out of the game? Everyone likes cool enchants on their gear that's different than others that give them extra stats. Why not just shift enchanting to the jeweler? Why remove the whole system?

Because they want to shift the emphasis on the game to mindlessly farming items.

Enchantments are really a WoW thing. Sockets have always been Diablo specific. I say increase the item types which are socketable and remove the mystic.
