THANKS FOR ALL THE COMMENTS, OPINIONS, INSIGHT, AND SUPPORT! Greetings Community, The other day, my friend convinced me to install a graphics filter for Diablo III, which serves the purpose of darkening and sharpening the graphics of this terrific game. Although I applaud the artists for doing a great job all around, I must admit that with the filter enabled, their art is transformed to what I imaged a Diablo game should look like, and further enhances the team's amazing production quality; no more blurry and washed out colors (which personally gives me a headache); just clean, clear, gritty, and sharp visceral contours. Note that this filter doesn't mess with any game file as it utilizes a external direct3d post processing filter to enhance the graphics. My friend has been using this filter for months in the Diablo III Beta, and used filters of this type in WoW for 5+ years. Please let me know what you think, and if you like it, try it out, as the screenshots truly do not do the filter justice and it looks just superb in-game. If you have any specific questions or requests, feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer them. - VIDEO (1080p) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcnIIVYSuLM - SCREENSHOTS Regular: http://i.imgur.com/zTIex.jpg Darken + Sharpen: http://i.imgur.com/sdyrP.jpg Regular: http://i.imgur.com/BqQM4.jpg Darken + Sharpen: http://i.imgur.com/ZIYw2.jpg Regular: http://i.imgur.com/EY3Yx.jpg Darken + Sharpen: http://i.imgur.com/q7Zu1.jpg Regular: http://i.imgur.com/Wn11I.jpg Darken + Sharpen: http://i.imgur.com/7EmCr.jpg Regular http://i.imgur.com/ETUzC.jpg Dark + Sharpen: http://i.imgur.com/UMuPj.jpg Regular: http://i.imgur.com/cxF4K.jpg Dark + Sharpen: http://i.imgur.com/xKMUl.jpg Regular: http://i.imgur.com/W9oXc.jpg Dark + Sharpen: http://i.imgur.com/09kjt.jpg - DOWNLOAD LINKS (Courtesy of Pyloneer): -Slight Darken + Sharpen (as shown in the screenshots above) http://db.tt/ZgljCKqq -Medium Darken + Sharpen (Resembling Diablo II) http://db.tt/anjaWc7r -Strong Darken + Sharpen (Resembling Diablo I <- If you like a gritty and dark atmosphere, you'll LOVE this one. I'm beginning to default to this as well, as it creates a very spooky environment!) http://db.tt/gEQoaX2i -No Darken + Just Sharpen (No darkness): http://db.tt/QEJt7gCv - INSTRUCTIONS 1. Extract the contents of the zip into the root directory of your Diablo 3 folder. 3. Start the game and turn off/on the effect using the Pause key on your keyboard. 4. If it doesn't work read the current issues list below. - CURRENT ISSUES: -If you get "d3dx9_43.dll" errors, install/update Direct X9 http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=35 -Running FRAPs, or launching the game with Steam Overlay/Origin may cause "Pause/Break" to not enable the filter. -The game seems to crash with the "d3d9.dll" file in the folder the FIRST time you launch the game or after a patch update. To resolve this, rename "d3d9.dll" into something else, then launch the game, close the game after, then rename the dll file back to "d3d9.dll". Then to launch the game make sure you run "Diablo III.exe" and NOT the beta launcher (which also happens to be the link in your desktop). Eh, whatever, the game looks good as it is. Plus I'm running it on my TV so I don't see too much of a difference from this distance.

Ya, it's definitely not for everyone, but many people appreciate the difference. I have always felt eyestrain from the normal version, and enjoy viewing the filtered version, but it's always good to have different settings for different people! |
Agreed, it's definitely very cool. Particularly for all those who were disappointed with the lighter, more colourful palette that D3 brought to the table. |
