So far, so good. I'm really getting the Diablo vibe from everything and it leaves me wanting to play more. I'm really hoping that as the game progresses Blizzard is able to build on the game-play but as of now I don't have any complaints.
I was looking ahead at some of the abilities, and I have to say I'm not pleased that a Barbarian has a summon spell. He's kind of a one-man-army and that's how he was portrayed in Diablo II. I think the summoning spell takes away from what he could have instead of that, because I can see it being one of those abilities that nobody ever uses.
It's like the Valkyrie for the Amazon in Diablo II, it was a waste of skill points.
That brings me on another topic, the lack of skill points. I'm afraid that the potential for characters to be diverse (in Diablo II, there were a range of "types" of Sorceresses, Druids, etc.) because everybody is going to have the exact same set of skills. There is also no value behind an item that adds "+1 to All Skills" which was a huge factor in Diablo II.
What do you guys think about the skill system?
I am also finding it very difficult to analyze which of my spells are better for which scenarios because there are absolutely no statistics on them. There is a brief description of what they do, and I have a fun time using them, but there's nothing for me to examine to pressure my character's build one way or another.
Another thing, I am not a fan of the identifying animation being the same as the town portal animation. For the town portal animation, it seems suitable because they are casting a spell to teleport back to town (which in my opinion is an improvement from the scrolls/tomes). I'm not sure what would be suitable for the identifying animation, maybe having an orange themed animation rather than the town-portal blue.
That's all for now, please discuss, I may think of other things. I really want to hear sensible opinions on what you think is a really good improvement and maybe some things that you think should be discussed.

Hold ctrl as you hover over the skills.
Haha thank you for that. Why isn't it just like this all the time?
I just hovered over the Barbarian's summoning ability and as I expected it gives the names of the ancients defeated in Diablo II (so cool). This made me think about how they may implement the summon, as it is only effective for 15 seconds (which isn't a very long summon, compared to most). Perhaps its just like a "run in and mess stuff up" spell, which may not be all that bad. I wish I could play of the game to see these things.
