Diablo® III

patch 14- zombie dogs still too OP

They are a great way to keep your distance from the fight, and now with 2x damage they actually die. but the cooldown is just long enough so that when you have 1 left, you can just summon 3 more. I think their hp or damage could be nerfed a bit more.

i think its fine, keep in mind if your above lvl 8-9 your in a lower lvl area so naturally they'll last a bit longer

I think people need to stop making generalizations based on approx. 2% of the game (1/3 of 1 act of 4 acts, of 4 difficulties). Just look at how powerful skeletons were in d2.. until you hit andariel in normal and then they were cannon fodder, even post-synergies they were still useless in nightmare and hell. Wait for the game's full release then make valid complaints based on things being OP or UP as I'm sure there will be plenty.

zombie dogs are not OP.....

only 9% weapon dmg and HP so low that they cant hardly hold down a mob without me rushing to globes

I disagree with OP, with patch 14 zombie dogs are too weak. They do no damage and are not meat shield. I know it's a beta and the game is in Normal difficulty but imagine in nightmare / hell / inferno...

Yeah the dogs stink lol what are you talking about? They dont even kill anything, I have to do all the work.

I think they need to do way more damage.

Just for reference, some of the monsters in fields of misery can 1 shot your dogs, even if you're level 13.

If anything, Zombie Dogs die way too fast now. Imagine in the higher levels, they would get practically 1-shot. What's the point?

sarcasme or not.. dogs neet to be fixed...

increase dmg to 15% ish

about HP.. if it's the same stats that they get 9% of your HP... give them 25% of your hp...

so they spawn with 15% dmg and 25% HP
so if your dmg is 50 and HP is 400 they get 7.5 dmg and 100 HP instead of 4,5 dmg and 36 HP(9%)

Dogs are fine, I have not played patch 14, but so long as they live long enough to attract mobs to attack them that is the whole point, they are tanks, not dps units.

Play patch 14, you will see the difference... now zombie dogs do nothing... no damage and no defense... they are useless...

I didn't find the dogs too weak until I got to SK and his cleave 1 shotted them every time

Just like the above posteres, WD was just fine until Patch 14. Dogs are far too weak, they dont need much of a tweak, but a little would make the WD a tad more enjoyable.

I have no idea why they felt the need to touch them at all. WD summons in general for fine before the damage nerf and now they're all just subpar.

I suggest you play patch 14 first. Basically you lose dogs really often. They almost all get one shot when SK does his cleave type attack.

I think they wanted all pets to do bugger all damage. I guess they thought that having a pet on its own attracting attention is a good enough bonus on its own. As for the other changes, the only other change is the monster damage being doubled. I like it, but all melee characters have had their damage mitigation increased, except for the zombie dogs and the follower.

Hopefully patch 15 will address this.
