dont get a g19, get a steel series.

instead of the speaker system get a razer megaladon.

an i7 960 will be better for you bang for buck wise.

3 raptors is rediculous, just get a 120 gig SSD.

I wanted to know if my old desktop will run D3 "well?"

AMD Phenom II X6 1090T @ 3.997Ghz
MSI Radeon HD 7950 Twin Frozr III
8Gb @ 1333Mhz
Crucial M4 SSD (found that diablo 3 lagged when installed in my hdd, moving it to the ssd resolved everything)
Samsung BX2350 23"
Razer BlackWidow

Think it's a little overkill if it's "just" for D3 xD
But, to get a constant fps (for me) in D3 Beta (60 with vsync), id suggest putting it on an ssd.

More than enough id say, even at 1920x1080 you shouldn't have problem, it's not a very demanding game (my card gets ~37% usage on D3).

As for your laptop replacement, the graphic card on the laptop is not really powerful (the 7690M = 6770M. I'd say the 6850 is at least 50-100% more powerful, could be wrong). If you game, maybe it's a little weak (for 1080p).

I probably have the oldest setup here. Last upgrade was almost 5 years ago.

AMD Phenom II x4 940 BE 3.2 GHz
9800 GTX+ (oh yeah bby still running strong!)
4 GB RAM
1680x1050 resolution
Windows 7 64 bit

Running D3 beta fine with physics on low and shadows off. No FPS lag except during the first few minutes of gameplay and during intense chaos on screen.

Upgrading 9800 GTX+ to GTX 570 soon, found a good deal for the 570.

Been busy today that's why i haven't responded until now.

This was a system i built about a year and a half ago and have had no reason to change, everything is still running strong apart from my SSD that died (which is why i didn't add it into the post) and i don't have the money to make any substantial changes/upgrades. Thanks for the pointers though.

With regards to the raptors i have them all partitioned into about 150Gb lots with the OS being on a ~60Gb partition, at the moment they are all pretty much empty as i formatted the system not that long ago and haven't put any games on. The partitions are labeled/used based on gaming genre that i play and none of them are raided so i feel they run fairly well.

Your first system isn't too bad, i wouldn't imagine D3 running on maxed out settings but it will still play the game relatively well. As for the second system, that is quite an upgrade and should run the game without any dramas even on the higher settings.
