PLEA for monk @BLIZZ

Question. You mentioned patches. In these patches do you plan on buffing skills or nerfing skills. Or are all D3 patches mostly for bugs, glitches, animations, or system problems?

This has been a huge question of the community and it needs an answer.


I like how the bash is talking about skill animations and this fool takes one sentence out of context and assumes that the dev team will tell him whats going to come in patches for game that isn;'t even out yet.....

The additional weapon types are specific to monks. The original monk design was very different, and very weapon dependent. As that design changed the number of usable weapons didn't really keep up to match, and so we're working to correct that.

That's not to say it's impossible for other classes to see additional weapon types, but we have no plans at this time.

Kind of off-topic, but yes, we intend to correct issues and make balance changes through patches. Did anyone think we wouldn't?

The monk animation issue were never a huge concern to me, I always considered it a more than fair trade off considering their combo mechanics, but nonetheless I'm very glad to hear this was done and I'm sure all the monk fans are thrilled.

Immersion is a good thing.

You had 5 YEARS to make this game. How are you still making 'tough calls' on what to keep and what to leave out ? How are major aspects of this game cut completely, let alone issues like this.


I'd imagine Leonardo DaVinci was beating himself up when he woke up from his hangover and realized he painted some of the background in the Mona Lisa too close. He probably tore himself up for it for years.

The game is never 'done', there will always be changes or everyone at Blizzard would just take an indefinite vacation on May 15th.

It was about 2H maces, right? So translation would be something like: "The work isn't complete etc etc ... but 2H Maces are currently on the list."

I predict that the weapon animations aren't to the complainers liking. They'll all wish for "better" animations. It's hard to please them all.

we added a full animation suite to the three skills where we felt the impact would be the greatest; Dashing Strike, Crippling Wave, and Deadly Reach.


I'm interested to see how crippling wave looks while wielding a shield since the 2nd attack is made with the off hand.
