I think 16GB RAM for Diablo 3 is overkill...

i agree that over kill for any rig wanting to play just one game but if you into playing more I.E rift/aion/aoc/wow/ any cod and diablo its not a bad idea to have the extra ram not to mention all the other software you have on your computeri run 8 gigs and it does just fine and i think even that much is alot not overkill but ALOT

@DeathWarding
Sounds like a fairly good system, I can't imagine you having any problems running the game, you clear all of the suggested system requirements quite easily. Loading speeds might be a little slower seeing as you are only using a standard HDD, a lot of people are using SSD but i can't justify an SSD just for one game so i use raptors instead.

Do you have any gaming peripherals? Keyboard, mouse, speakers/headphones or are they just basic ones?

Right now my desktop runs at 3.00ghz, 1GB DDR1 ram, and a very old nvidia AGP graphics card. Anyone know where I can get the best bang for my buck in parts? Im deciding between building a new pc and a laptop, my budget is 900$. I'd like to be able to run Diablo 3 in at least high or medium high settings, monitors are not an issue for me I have a pretty decent one; just looking for some good computing power. I'd like to get the steel series Diablo mouse as well. Any recommendations?

i5 760 OC'd @ 3.6GHz
GTX 460 1GB
4GB RAM

Hooked up to my 24" Samsung 245T. This monitor has lasted me through across three different computers, I'll be sad when it eventually dies as everything made these days seems to be 16:9.

Same specs, bought it over a year ago and still runs everything on high, including diablo 3.
