It's a pain in the rear to have to pick up gold. Of course everybody wants gold, so why not make it automatically get added to your inventory after like 2 seconds. This way, we waste less time picking up gold and more time fighting, while still being able to see how much is getting dropped and feeling "wow that boss just dropped 200k gold!!!"

I can tell you won't be a grinder if a simple task of just running over gold is tedious for you. Diablo 2 you had to click as well, they've made it even easier now.

just make a gold pickup radius build lolol
|
|
|
by that reasoning, why are we forced to kill stuff, you know everybody wants exp and items, can we just have our character automatically walk up to stuff and collect exp til 60? in fact, just roll our item rolls for us in town please.

....OP, quit complaining.
They already made it automated pick up, that is half the fun in Diablo, picking up loot. All you have to do is walk over it, or actually just near it, and it gets sucked into your bag of loot. This is one of the worst complaints I have seen yet... I can't tell if you are stupidly lazy, or just a good troll....maybe both. |

Get like 4 yards pickup radius and it becomes a lot easier.

OMG, you people have to complain about something don't you?
Why should we have to fight and kill for rare drops? Of course everybody wants rare drops, so why not have them appear in our inventories, or better yet already equipped right as soon as we start the game? For that matter, why not just start us at the Diablo fight? Of course everybody wants to fight Diablo but who wants to fight their way through hordes of monsters just to get to him? On that note, why do we have to use our mouse when playing the game? Why not hook electrodes that read impulses sent directly from our brains to control our characters? Seems like Blizzard is just getting lazy at this point, forcing us to play the game and with a mouse of all things. |

you guys are missing the point. gold drops much more often than rare items. it's very fun to see items get dropped and pick them up, but that's not the same for gold because not only do they get dropped much more frequently, the amounts dropped are almost all the time similar numbers. furthermore, not every player will always want a certain item, at least, it will be very hard to determine an item that would serve as a "cutoff" for when to automatically deposit into the inventory. gold on the other hand is something everyone will always be willing to pick up.
i'm just saying it would be nice to not have to go pick up gold after every fight because your allies happened to kill some monsters that weren't right next to you, maybe 2-3 seconds away from you, assuming blizzard does a good job of making sure gold is actually worth something this time around so that we actually care to pick them up, yes, a wider radius for picking up the gold would be very convenient. having played d2 for many years, i'm just giving my suggestions for this game.

you'd rather have to manually pick it up? what the heck lol

@Reverie:
Dunno if you been following the forums but apparently white items used to be useful then blizzard purposefully made them crappy just to fill your screen with crap. If they automatically deposited gold, then less crap would be on your screen, and that would break the crap = good rule. |

It's psychological. You feel like a boss picking up all those shiny gold pieces.
|
White items were never useful. By the time you got halfway through D2 on normal mode you didn't even bother picking up most magical items. A white item was useless unless it was a class specific one that could give + to abilities. The only reason they are there is because the game rolls a specific item off of each mob. The higher your MF, the more likely that the item is unique, magic, rare, etc. If it doesn't roll any of these, it's normal. And crap.

I wasn't talking about D2, and many whites were useful in D2 through socketing something to make a runeword, or selling certain items for 35k. In D3, they used to have an item that would break down whites into components for crafting, I can see why they removed that, but now whites just drop everywhere and are 100% useless(other than being naked). |
