is it me or is templer kinda useless? From my experience of D2 Enchantresss would be most uselful dps/mc/buff wise. Scouldrel is a a close second stun/blind/crit increase. and Templer straight out useless unless u need the heals, health recover per second, and resource regen.
as for my followers for all my classes i am prob ganna use enchantress for all except for wizard i might use scouldrel for its stun blind slow and crit. that that is my opinion any beta testers wanna educate me?
From what I understand, they'll all be pretty worthless in boss fights and subpar everywhere else. My templar died several times in every fight agaisnt the skeleton king lol. Their purpose is just to make Solo play a bit less solo I think....just makes me wanna play MP lol
In Beta (pre-patch 15) the follower (Templar) did good damage and kept mobs off you.
In the last two patches in Beta the follower damage as set at 15% of the weapon damage. The follower also provided MF and GF percentages that were added to yours (again, 15% of the value listed in MF/GF gear you provided him). Main Hand, Off Hand, 2 rings slots I believe were available in Beta.
So in SK fights the follower would die simply because the mob(s) killed him before he killed them. Which is still ok since the mobs were not fighting you. His heal is not enough to keep him alive, just keeps him in the fight longer.
When the follower dies, he kneels in place for abit (forgot how long) then stands up and resumes the fight.
Since the follower has BAD damage, I pick the skills that do slows or stuns over any damage boost skill.
We sill see what the Live version does with the follower's damage.
I only played open beta, so not sure how closed differed, but I killed SK probably 20 times with WD, Wizard, and Monk. Templar never died. Got close a few times, but never died.
I see Templars being less useful for classes like Barb and Monk, who don't really need a taunting meat shield with the occasional heal. They have their uses for people closer to the glass cannon end of the spectrum like wizards and demon hunters though.
Since my first character is going to be a wizard, I think the templar is the most useful. He will keep mobs off me and clump them up for AoE. The enchantress is appealing as well, but I'd prefer protection over utility, since I have plenty of damage and utility.
