Even though my 6950 is unaffected, I'm gonna stick with 12.3 just in case.

I have an ati hd3800 and had the same problem too. I had to revert to 10.something on the beta to fix all graphical problems i had on 12.3 ( read the fix on here somewhere to try reverting to 10. something so i did and it worked so when game launches ill check back with more info on 12.3 or 12.4 on launch)

I use a: NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT

During beta I would (very rarely) get a weird graphical bug where what appeared to be letters would flash on the screen for a moment. It almost looked like a cross word puzzle but slightly bigger spaces between the letters, white text, and on a diagonal slant.

My graphics drivers were up to date at the time - I made sure.

We've recently become aware that playing Diablo III with the latest Catalyst 12.4 drivers for ATI cards may cause some visual artifacts for specific hardware configurations. This issue affects users of ATI Radeon HD 2400, 2600, 2900, 3400, 3600 and 4500 graphics cards under Windows Vista and Windows 7. ATI Radeon HD 4600, 4700, 4800, 5000, 6000 and 7000 series products are unaffected, as is Windows XP.

ATI is aware and investigating. Until a solution can be provided we recommend those affected use the Catalyst 12.3 drivers.

I read this as, "Macintosh computers are unaffected." Correct me if I'm wrong.

mine is AMD 6450 and im on a PC- windows 7. Unaffected. (just sayin)

It clearly says that you're unaffected (look below)... and your post doesnt add to his comment at all (he's asking whether Macintosh are computers being affected).

I've still got dual 4850's in Crossfire. I see it only specifies the 4500 in the list of models. Does this mean I'm fine with the 12.4 version? I did get the pop-up from the beta, but I'm not sure if it is just detecting the driver version or the driver version + graphics card model.

Easy enough to do with the following.

C:\>wmic path win32_videocontroller get caption, driverversion
Caption DriverVersion
ATI Radeon HD 4850 8.961.0.0
ATI Radeon HD 4850 8.961.0.0

The 8.961.0.0 refers to the "Driver Packaging Version" and I'm sure correlates someway to 12.4.

I had really bad FPS on the beta with A 6850, 8 gigs of ram, and a FX-4100 4.6 quad core. Even worse with the 2.4 drivers. Fingers crossed that optimization was done in this area.

Only very old cards are affected. If you are using a modern, unaffected card, it is best to use the latest drivers. Don't roll back to 12.3 "just to be safe".

I would. I'm running CCC 12.3 on a 7850 and no problems during the Diablo 3 Beta at all. I had v-sync on and was just about always getting 60 fps.
