Im gonna use Fists of Thunder with Thunderclap to teleport around the battlefield quickly and keep the action going The plan is to only (Start with 200 Spirit) 1. Use sweeping strike and keep it up as long as possible, if it falls off...refresh (125 Spirit left) 2. Dash Strike in (115 Spirit left) 3. Use Mantra[Self Healz+extra DPS] (65 spirit left) 4. Use Seven Sided Strike on CD (15 Spirit left) 5. Fist of Thunder to regen spirit to use on Seven Sided Strike Use serenity when im taking a beating and need to escape to heal up I'm also going to stack crit...because sweeping wind benefits from it two-fold...in can stack up to 2 times and deal 45% weapon damage....and crit hits have a chance to spawn tornadoes to do even more damage Another reason to stack crit is because of sixth sense increasing my dodge chance equal to 30% of my crit chance...therefore giving me sweet dps and still great survivability I would also stack heavily into one elemental type thanks to one with everything matching all my resists to that one over resisted element type ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A thing i am looking into is maybe giving up the Mantra for another spirit dump since Seven Sided Strike is on a CD...i may be spirit capping quite often(if i'm able to keep sweeping wind up) and may need something else to use...but i would need something with self heals on it maybe Exploding Palm with Essence Burn on it

A thing i am looking into is maybe giving up the Mantra for another spirit dump since Seven Sided Strike is on a CD...i may be spirit capping quite often(if i'm able to keep sweeping wind up) and may need something else to use...but i would need something with self heals on it This is what I was thinking. Either EP or LTK based on the situation and preference. I think that if higher level mobs with more health may not die and blow up with EP, LTK might be better for the overall cone damage. Sweeping wind might help there though. Finally, since you included Dashing Strike, maybe you should consider another generator like Crippling Wave or WHF. I was confident that i was going to use FoT with the teleport, but I found myself Dashing into enemies rather than teleporting in. Occasionally, it seemed like the teleport was acting buggy and my FoT wasn't hitting all the enemies within my primary target as it should. I switched to Crippling Wave and found myself damaging all enemies within a complete circle around me. The damage seemed much higher to me and I liked the debuffs i was applying. I was happy with the switch I made. |

First off a misconception almost everyone has is that the Spirit passive gives you 200 spirit total, it gives 250. Your base is 150 not 100. Yay!
I agree with Presto, if you have Dashing Strike you don't need FoT. I would take Crippling Wave (Mangle) and do a lot more damage with it. I would also take Overawe with Mantra of Conviction, an extra 12% damage on everything is a LOT. |

I enjoyed your write-up of your build Dmillz, i hope you don't mind if i post the link to it =D http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#WdXZik!ZXY!abbbZa http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/4837134177?page=2#30 |

All these suggestions are pretty good. Just make sure you definitely add some offense to use during your CD, otherwise it'll be a long 30 seconds.
Also people tend to forget that the mantras are superbuffed for the first 3 seconds. If you really do find yourself needing a spirit dump, refreshing your mantra isn't a bad idea. I've seen some builds that focus on spirit regen just to keep the boosted mantras up. That may be extreme, but whatever works. |

welp updated my build after watching a jay wilson guide on the monk
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#aVdiTk!bUW!acbYYY jay said a combo that he likes and uses quite often is Dashing Strike in, Exploding Palm a target, take him down quickly with fists of thunder Monster Blows Up, Spreading your DoT on Exploding Palm Use seven sided strike to quickly take down a lot of monsters(with the DoT), so they all start blowing up and damaging each other afterwards, if you still need some damage and seven sided strike is down.....Sweeping Wind and Fists of Thunder will do the trick ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This build uses a ton of offense, and I don't really have any defensive traits...other than the heals on my mantra...so i may have to cut something out when it comes time for Inferno mode |
