Am I the only one that has been waiting for this for months? I mean, I like Diablo: the animated series as much as the next guy, but I was really looking forward to info on weapons finally being released. The game is now less than a week away and none of the heroes of Sanctuary even know what gear to keep an eye out for... WTH?? lol

Anyways, super psyched and can't wait for my 72 hour Diablo spree and the Diableard to come off while its downloading. See you all at launch!!! WOOT

Just wanna say thanks to Bash for the quick response. Also, I was sort of leaning towards the lines of a list for affixes and info on the legendary weapons. Not necessarily stats on them. I realize the vast majority are completely random and I love it! Only a few days left people. Can you tell I am excited? lol

I understand where you are coming from, I felt the same way too. Regardless, I respect their decision to hide them from us, as it definitely adds to the suspense.

As far as knowing what to look out for, I think you will pretty much pick up every legendary item you find >.> even if just to salvage it.

According to this blue post we will be able to view the item data on May 14th

Personally I think I might as well just try to avoid looking at these all together, as they have made us wait this long already I might as well go the extra distance to make it even more exciting to finally find these items in game.

So with the item database being updated next week it’s important to keep in mind that what we’re going to have on the website are the items that are actually possible for us to show. If Diablo is about nothing else it’s about randomization, and Diablo III is no different. While all items have some variance, either in their armor range or the affixes they roll, the vast majority of items (~99%) are entirely random. It’s also true that the entirely random items are going to be among the most coveted, and therefore the focus of the majority of the item hunt. What you’ll see on the site next Monday are the handmade items that a designer named and set specific stats and ranges for. What you won't see is the majority of the game's entire item pool, which exists in the near limitless randomized permutations.
Been waiting for that update almost as much as I've been waiting for the game!

Can't wait for this. So much fun in the old days perusing the Arreat Summit... going to be awesome here too.

Edit: Will also be awesome to see what kind (if any) of API we might get too...

Just how spoilery are the items? I'm not sure I can refrain from looking at them early...No will power.
Can't wait for my first legendary drop, even if they don't turn out to be the most powerful
Reading and drooling will be how I spend my time before servers go live on Monday.
Will there be a list of magic prefixes and suffixes?

Something like this:

So you will most like show the Legendary items?
Or will there be Legendary item with, example, +5 Random Magic Properties??

Filling out the game guide with all the rules and data is something we'll be starting as soon as we can (ideally with launch) and updating as we go. We do want there to be some discovery on people's parts as to the rules of the game, so we're going to start broad and then get into the nitty gritty rules as time goes.

Can you give us a general idea as to how many legendary/set items there will be in the game.
Ya, it cant hurt to give us an idea how big the database is in terms of number of items is it?

Why does this sound like a preemptive way of saying don't be disappointed you won't see many legendary items appear in diablo 3?
Thanks wow, you converted another "loot is content" person.

In reference to the items listed in the game guide, will it ever be possible to change the item art visible when browsing through icons to a different class/gender? Like, when I look at the page for http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/archon-armor for example, all five class arts are visible (though only the male.) But when I browse through http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/chest-armor/ I only see the demon hunter art. Can I change it so that I can see the female barb art while I browse? or the wizard?

And on a game guide related note, will there be sections on the bestiary within the game guide? I know you guys wanted to make it really robust like Arreat Summit, but currently it doesn't look like there's anywhere for a bestiary to go.

Excited to see the new item list.

I understand that the majority of items rares/magic are going to be random properties, and that will be half the fun to find those interesting ones that happened to roll amazing properties. However, I do hope there is a rather sizable amount of set and legendary items that have hand crafted stats and properties that make them coveted and unique. Rather than the +3 random attributes from before. I felt that was quite a disappointment to see.

Which is why I'm asking for a general idea so come Monday I'm not too disappointed... I'm scared there will only be the items we've already seen in the database but with stats. Take for example the number of legendary shoulders. Right now there's 3 listed, i'm hoping that number is at least 10 come Monday.
