  • Gameplay bugs (ie, x ability doesn't work, quest is not completable, etc)

When reporting issues/bugs. A report need to have certain information to be helpful. It also helps to report it using the forum tags and make the reports more readable.

All reports need the following at minimum:
  • Hardware Overview
  • Graphics Overview
  • Software Overview
  • Additional information may be required based on type of report which includes:
  • Modem/Router make & model
  • Internet Service Provider (ISP)
  • A network traceroute to us.logon.battle.net
  • A full detail of what your game settings actually are.
  • Crash/Error Report
  • If you think your report will probalby need this information go ahead and add it right away so we don't have to ask for it later.

    When providing this information. it helps tremendously to use the "pre" button to code enclose each item for easier visability, especially with crash reports so you don't have to scroll 80 pages to get to bottom of post. Below is an example bug report.

    Use as much detail in reporting as possible. The conditions leading up to your issue have to be reproduced as close as possible. Sometimes it's a very specific set of conditions that need to be reproduced to identify cause. With insufficent information, a report can be nearly useless.

    When in game, I crash every time i get to x event. My graphics settings are a, b, and c and my sound settings are x, y, and z. I play on a broadband DSL connection with low latency and no connection problems. My latency and FPS are both solid right before the crash. Here is my additional info:

    Note obviously you'd include a relevant crash report and not wrong game that has nothing to do with report. But i have no D3 crash reports to use for an example :)

    Note that because of the format tags, the thread is far more readable, easier to scroll, easier to understand.

    Also note that username was edited out of Software report, and serial number was edited out of hardware report. This is personal information that is not needed. The crash report may also have your full name in it and you might want to edit that out too. I didn't cause most people can find my name anyways, I'm on a lot of projects.
