How are there stars in Sanctuary's dimension?

If Sanctuary was created in its own dimension when Inarius and his posse stole the worldstone, then how are there stars? Sanctuary was built around the worldstone, but there is nothing that says it was used to create anything else in this new dimension, much less stars or galaxies. How can there be stars inside it? I understand that the fallen star in D3 is almost definitely NOT just a fallen star, but how do the humans even know what stars are?
Is there a whole universe inside this pocket dimension?
Thoughts?

what better way to hide the stone then in a universe full of stars, planets, moons. when you have a tool that is capable of creating anything and you want to hide it from everyone, why not make a place that is as infinite as your reality and drop it inside so that even if those you are hiding from found it, it would take eternity to search it.

^ This. Very well put. Its been cited that the Worldstone has been used to create all sorts of things (including beasts and worlds) to fight the opposing side.

There aren't necessarily stars in the traditional sense. Trag'Oul, for example, is visible from sanctuary as a constellation.

no no no. The OP is mistaking things...
Sanctuary was actually created in an existing dimension and not in a "new" one.
They have stolen the worldstone to this new dimension, where they used it to create sanctuary. Thats what happened. So its pefectly assumable that we couldhave stars in this dimension.

You really need to read Stephen Hawking's "The Universe in A Nutshell: Diablo's Sanctuary"

:D Hahaha!
And as far as Sanctuary being placed in an existing dimension, do you have a source for that? I have been reading around and I can't seem to find a solid answer. Maybe the Book of Cain mentions something... I am super curious!
Some good thoughts in this thread, btw.

Maybe the realms of Heaven and Hell don't have stars, and exist in a much smaller universe, and Sanctuary exists in something comparable to our universe, the planet just a speck of dust when scaled against the vastness of space. Would definitely seem like a good hiding place....

!@#$, maybe that's why we haven't found life anywhere else. Maybe angel/demon lovers have hidden us away!
