We recently moved, and the internet provided here has all Blizzard ports closed. My boyfriend is trying to download Diablo 3, but the downloader sits at 0% doing nothing. We also cannot update the WoW: MOP client because we get the following error, "Failed to download a file, please check your internet connection."

I'm extremely nervous about not getting to play come launch night.

You will want to open ports 6119, 6120 and 6881-6999

All blizzard games function through the following ports: 6881 - 6999, 1119, 1120, 3724, 4000, 6112, 6113, and 6114 for both TCP and UDP, as these ports are used and reserved through http://www.iana.org/; the port listings can be directly found at: http://www.iana.org/assignments/port-numbers

They will need to be open in order for the game to function correctly, including downloading.

Let me guess - there's no options provided by Blizzard for anyone with blocked ports?

Do you have any friends that can maybe copy the installation files to an external hdd?

If we can't download or update our games, yeah, there oughta be!

I've heard of plenty of college students who have these issues.

You can't download it because your ports are blocked.

Again, not sure how it's there problem.

If I buy a car, I don't expect Toyota to fix traffic.

I'm going to be raising hell with my apartment managers until these ports are open, but it's still ridiculous that Blizzard excludes anyone with ports blocked.

I can't believe you're seriously telling me "cry more". That's exactly what you're saying too. I'm frustrated enough about all this, so piss off.

Yo bought it knowing that your ports are blocked.

Again, just because you paid money for the game doesn't mean that Blizzard should fix a problem that's outside of their control.

Honestly I am not. Just trying to make you understand that the issue is as much your fault. If I knew you personally, i'd do what I could to get you the game client.

Good luck bud.

So I went up to my management office today and they gave me a number to call. Called the number and learned a new company took over the contractors who handle the internet here, and new management stepped in. The new company will be installing their own equipment over the next few weeks, and once they've done that, all ports will be unblocked. Yay!

I hope Blizzard reads this thread, if only to understand my frustration, and in hopes others will no longer have to deal with this nonsense. No one should have to rely on third party sources to download products they've purchased.

My frustration started with MOP beta: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/4916891839?page=1

I know this is a really old thread, but my brain just blew on the wall. BLIZZARD HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BLOCKED PORTS. They can't have 1000 different ports for their game. Blocked ports is there because the owner doesnt want you to use those ports!

And Lysiana, go read up on what a port really is...
