Diablo® III

Downloaded English(EU) but live in Canada

Posts: 3
I have the Diablo-III-8370-enGB-Installer Folder.

In my account the country of residence is listed as Canada.

My understanding is that global play will start along side of NA launch, so I should be able to play on NA as soon as that opens, correct?

Will I be able to play when EU goes live?

I'd rather not DL 8 GB again if it isn't necessary.

Edit: My account balance is show in Euros

Also, if I set my region to English(US) and click save, the setting doesn't stick and is reset to English(EU) next time I view the page or log-in / log-out.

As Canadians we generally use UK spelling.

Hence many things often default to UK spelling if they do not have a Canadian spelling option, as we share more words with UK English than US English.

Thanks for the reply.

Do you happen to know if your version is defaulting to English(EU) ?

I am downloading the installer at the moment at home. When I get back from work and attempt an install I'll let you know.

If your installer is defaulted to the EU installer, that would mean that if you pre-ordered the game that it is the EU version of the game. Now Bashiok did make a post on the General forums saying that Global play will not happen right at launch with the NA realms. This is designed to insure server stability for all regions before global play is launched. So more than likely Global Play will not happen until at least 24 hours after launch, if not longer.

Now as you do have the EU installer you should be able to login and play on the EU realms right when they launch for D3. Which with my math is around 3pm PDT, 4pm MDT, 5pm CDT, or 6pm EDT.

I appreciate the detailed response.

I considered this as well.

But when I go to my transaction history

on us.battle.net -> diablo 3 purchase
on eu.battle.net -> no purchases

log into your bnet account go to summary page, it should be the page you land on when you log in, top right corner should be d3, click it and down load it

That's what I've been doing, all I have is the option to pre purchase, I pre ordered retail so I could get the collectors edition, but it says in the launch guide the downloader should be available to all at 8:01 am PDT....

I'm in the same boat, my installer is enGB but I live in Canada, my account balance shows USD, I try to set my region to English(US) but it doesn't save. I wonder if this will effect launch tonight, which is scheduled for 2:01 Central. Anyone?
