Game activation question

So I began the install today and it asked me to choose "activate" or "I've already activated". I purchased a digital copy from Blizzard. Does this mean it's already activated? On my games page it says "active" under status

I had the same question. I'm assuming that anyone who already has D3 "active" because of the annual pass can skip this step.

Of course you know what they say about assuming. You make an !@# out of dorito tacos.

I'd like to bump this so we can get an answer. :) I'd imagine it's an oversight and the game is already "activated" (hence why it appears on our b.net games list) but I'd like to make sure.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat as you OP. I'm thinking that's mainly prompting people that bought the box but Dled the client already. I imagine they have to enter in their CD key or whatever to activate the copy. Digital copies bought from Blizz (and given thru annual passes) *seem* to already be active.

I'm installing now, I'll post here if I find out anything more concrete.

You can skip the authentication step during the install if you have a digital purchase.

Just like WoW, when installing Diablo 3 the game will prompt you to update your Battle.net account with your authentication key. If you have made a digital purchase, that key will already be on your account. The install will proceed normally once the step is skipped.
