I want to play this game on atleast minimum. Here are my PC Specs

http://support.gateway.com/s/PC/R/1009151/1009151sp3.shtml

The only thing different is that it has 3 GB of ram, not 1. I can run WoW just fine. What is a graphics card that I can buy (around $60) that can run this game on atleast minimum? My current card is not supported. I was looking at this one but not sure if it would fit etc as I have no knowledge of this type of stuff. Thanks.

The 300watt PSU in addition to the old/low end CPU is going to be an issue. You can compare the cards here http://www.neeyik.info/3dspecs/3dspecs_dx11.html I'd suggest the 430 over that 520 myself but neither are near mid-range.

So would the 430 fit in my PC? And do you think that it would run it on atleast minimum? I have seen forum posts of people saying they have below minimum but are running the game on 20+ FPS. I know my processor is below, and I hope this will not cause unplayable gameplay.

it should "fit", you have a PCI-E x16 slot, and it's a single slot card. If you have at least 2gb of ram it should be "playable" on minimum.

If I were to go to Best Buy and look at their available cards, what do I need to look for? (to make sure it is compatible). Thanks.

Check its Power requirements (you only have a 300 watt PSU), It must be PCI-E x16 compatible (most PCI-E 2.0 cards are backwards compatible), It must only take a SINGLE slot (if it takes 2 slots it likely is BEYOND what your computer can provide power for) and make sure it is NOT on the list of UNSUPPORTED GPU's. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/4903441037

Can you define backwards compatible? And how will I know if it is compatible with PCI-E x16? Sorry for all of the questions, eager to play as the game is already downloaded and I'm not too knowledgeable with computer hardware.

A GTX 260 is a PCI-E 2.0 card, but it runs in PCI-E x16 slots just fine (which is what I have). That means the card is BACKWARDS compatible, it runs in an OLD version of the slot. Ex: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130738

If you can find a radeon 5670, 5770, 6670 or 6770 at Bestbuy, those are good bang for the buck. Bestbuy here has some 5670 cards for 70 bucks. It isn't going to be the fastest card ever, but if you mainly just want to play diablo it will work just fine. Also a decent WoW card if thats your thing.

Also, would be considerably faster than a geforce 430... I think you would be disappointed with the performance of that card. I have had experience with these cards running just fine in 250-300 watt power supplies.

Grimes, those require over 300watt officially, least the 5670 requires a 400 watt and the rest require that or higher. They CAN run with a 300 or lower, but I personally would not recommend it.

actually, that is what the card recommends on the box. Looking at various benchmark tests, the 5670 actually only uses between 70 and 80 watts at full load. So unless he has several hard drives, add-don cards, usb devices, and other addons, his system is not going to use 200 watts for all other components.

I have a friend who is running a pre-built Dell with a 280 watt psu with the aforementioned video card. two years and counting with no issue.

Edit: I used a 450 watt PSU with my 560 Ti for a while when the box said minimum 500 watt. Just for reference. Granted, don't get me wrong. A better psu is always a good thing, but you would be surprised how little power these cards draw in real world performance.

I'd suggest browsing the newegg discount video cards. Pretty much anything available on their site in the $80-$150 range will run D3 well, especially if you disable shadows. Remember you will prolly need a new power supply (500-600w) to support that video card if you have a preassembled computer from a big box store.

here is a youtube vid of someone playing crysis 2 with a 5670 on a 300 watt psu:

googling it will allow you to find many other videos with people running cards with 300 watt power supplies and lower with various other cards.

the newer the better for power useage so a gtx 260 would probably kill that psu straight up

Is this what you are referring to? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/MSI+-+R5670-MD1GD3+Radeon+HD+5670+Graphic+Card+-+775+MHz+Core+-+1+GB+DDR3+SDRAM+-+PCI+Express+2.1+x16/3771456.p?id=1218431556265&skuId=3771456&st=5670&cp=1&lp=1

Will it be compatible with my PC (if it is the card)?
