Mac Book Air Fall 2011 - Terrible performance

3.4 - 3.8 out of 4 gigs of memory are being utilized observed via

Activity Monitor.

This macbook is not over loaded.

All I use (although not with a game) is XCode, Chrome, and terminal.app

Chrome is minimal, nothing fancy as far as extensions.

WoW runs fine and even looks better than the nVidia 8800 GTX on my gaming PC.

After turning down all graphical options I see no difference in choppiness.

I am running a developer preview of Mountain Lion 10.8 (2)

(upgrading to developer preview 3 now)

1.6 GHz intel Core i5

4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB

OS X 10.8 (12A128p)

My gaming PC is over 6 years old and ran the beta fine.

This is a new decked out macbook air with SSD. Thunderbolt display. New intel architecture.

Is this a memory leak?

Son, you own a Macbook Air. That is not a gaming laptop by a long-shot. Feel lucky that D3 will run at all on your machine. The Air was not designed to play current-gen games. Also try using 10.7 instead of the 10.8 beta.
