Here's a tip I figured out, but it's situational.
First, I always find it annoying when mobs circle me, not letting me escape, and then run around causing damage.
At first, I kited them, but quickly found out that it takes forever as a melee class, and running around spirit starved is even worse.
Throughout hell mode, I can across something wonderful, and I've been using it ever since.
When you have a group of mobs with molten, fire chain, and/or plague, find a crevice that's small enough to fit you and only one other mob, then sit back and kill that mob, allow the next one, kill it, and so on until the group is dead.
The reason why this works is that molten leaves a trail of fire, which the mobs can't pass you, or surround you in the crevice. Fire chain is avoidable because the other mobs will be behind the mob you're killing, making the chains not hit you. And iirc, plague works like desecrate, except it isn't targeted under you, but under the mob.
If the mobs have desecrate then it doesn't work, unless you have two small areas you can run in between desecrate casts.
lol, I do find it funny watching a beam swing round, then just Tempest Rushing around it.....
Desecrates and plagues i hit until i see something below me TR thru the baddie and keep going the other side.
Fire Chains are easy in a group, just separate them till there chains break and have at it.
Choke points work great until an illusionist spawns his mates behind you!
