Amethyst and Ruby...

Why do Amethyst and Ruby drop so much less frequently than the other two gems? I'm a Barb so those two are the ones that would have the greatest benefit for me but I get the other two types at roughly a 3 to 1 ratio. Is there some reason why they drop so much less frequent.?

Roll a dice and count how often each number comes up - there will be times when it seems there is a bias towards a number, but if you roll to infinity then they will balance out.
