Average Latency: 550

After about 8 PM on weekdays it sometimes gets down to 300. On weekends the latency is often constantly 600 even into early hours of the morning.

I have found anything over 450 or so makes it absolutely impossible to enjoy the game.

Getting steady, 190-200ms latency using a tunneling service.

Please modify the game to use the same authentication method as Starcraft 2. This would fix the problem with server load and there wouldn't be any problem with latency.

Region in Aus/NZ: Adelaide
ISP Name: Telstra
Connection type: wireless modem nextG
Latency range in game 300-800
Average latency: 350 msec

If I may add I have a Vodafone wireless modem and it is always around 600 up to 1500 msec. Which is weird as I use it for COD MW3 and I usually get 100 msec ping. Diablo is the most leggy game I have encountered.
PS. Are the Asian servers any better ?? I would try them but they are constantly full and can't log into them. Good luck blizzard, the game otherwise is one awesome game...

Kind regards

Latency Range in game: 180-2500 (according to in-game display)
Average Latency: 350 or so.

For me the problem is wildly inconsistent ping. Tonight I've been playing in the same game as a friend (also in Sydney but using a different ISP). I get anywhere from 10-60 seconds of gameplay with approx 250 ping, then the connection will completely halt for anywhere between 5 seconds and 5 minutes. During this time I don't get disconnected from the server, chat keeps functioning perfectly, my friends come and go offline, and I see other people's achievements. My friend keeps playing with no problems.

Running a tracert to 12.129.209.68 gives me the last hop at a lax1.attens.net server with a 181ms ping. After that it gets to 12.129.199.178 and "destination net unreachable".

edit: I've also tested the European and Asian servers and both are giving me the same lag spike problems.

edit2: I forgot to mention as well that launch night and the night after were both completely fine for me, lag-wise. The lag spikes problem has only started for me in the last 24-36 hours.

So sad that the Lag gremlin has killed me the most out of diablo's foul minions. :(

Please fix blizzard, great game otherwise.

its been very playable up until just tonight. Getting absolutely no where and dying without warning

You are an idiot, shut up and don't come back here.
Did anyone notice the ping increases with the amount of enemies on the screen. So I presume the harder levels like hell and inferno will be even more lagging ??? :/

there doesn't appear to be any relationship between the latency display & how laggy the game is. it can feel perfectly fine and playable for hours on ~400 average ping, but right now it's varying a huge amount - showing 250-260 for several seconds, then back to the 400s, spiking to 900s, all the while feeling the same (like it's actually 1200ms ping, with constant rubber banding, mismatch between client & server positions of the player, etc...).

It's not so much the lag that gets me, it's the lag spikes that make me lose all control over my character and since I got to nightmare, I die nearly every time it happens in combat.

Unplayable on Hell, and simply frustrating as all "Hell" on any other difficulty due to high ping (pardon the pun).
