Diablo® III

Nightmare Demon Hunter builds

So i'm in nightmare level 47 act 3. I realized fast that my build wasn't going to cut it anymore and I've been trying new ones but I just can't find the right one for me. Can anyone please give me some good nightmare builds that gives good survivability and great damage output as well?

This isnt as good until you hit 50 due to the passive that you need but find the Best 2h Crossbow you can get and spec this.

Smoke screen rune is preference thing, i just like having it cost less discipline

Stampede on rain of vengeance is great since it buys you time as the beasts will knock back almost all champ packs.

For boss fights, change impale to chemical burn and Rain of vengeance with w/e takes your fancy.

I used something similar to this, only thing you need to worry about is laying down
caltrops against rares. If your really good at kiting then maybe switch smoke
screen out for something else, maybe pet or the rain of vengeance with knock back.

Can you set multi-shot as your secondary (right mouse button)?

I use that at 37, and pretty much nothing can touch me, just gotta watch out on certain boss abilities that target ranged.

I just mow through things, spamming bola on groups standing on the mark and dumping hatred on multishot.

Sentry is nice for kiting bosses in a circle through caltrops. Works well for me at least.

SS is just ballin for survival and with all the increased dmg from passives most mobs die from like 1 or 2 impales. i opt for impale due to its high dmg at 250%.

I've been using this, with various changes to runes and such. It's been that set-up since mid-Nightmare. Though, the Impale gets swapped from time to time, I've had it as a lot of different things. I dunno how good it actually is, but it's been working really well with me, so far.

I use this right now - bat is for hatered generation - and it does some dmg so I find it better than the basic skill (and only one hatred spender so I rarely run out). most dmg actually comes from traps - put the sentry and 5 traps in one place, lure enemy - and it's dead. I might change tumble for smoke screen with displaycement - still experimenting.

I had this before - but needed tumble to escape swarms - but I will probably still use if for bosses.

//edit: and I use crossbow which helps due to lower hatered consumption (lower rof than handcrossbows or bow)

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/demon-hunter#aRTXVZ!YeT!aZZZbZ What I'm using in NM, but I've seen it used up to Act 3 Inferno. It's incredibly solid. Frost Arrow is retarded AoE damage for no cost, honestly.

My build up to Hell Act II so far. Great for both single target and AoE dmg with smoke screen as a primary escape. I usually run with a WD who provides slows otherwise I'd probably run Frost Arrow instead of Impale or multishot.

Nightmare is easy. I wouldn't bother with one of the high smoke screen up time builds for it until the very end. Maybe for a boss or two (Belial and Diablo come to mind), but that's about it.

This is the build I used to breeze through NM:

Entangling + chain gang is underrated for aoe damage. It hits 4 targets and builds hatred while gaining +15% from cull the weak, so it's a great alternative when you're low/out of hatred. Other than that it's pretty simple. Impale + chem burn for single target and elemental + frost arrow for very strong aoe. Everything should be slowed and kept 10 yards away, so that's +15% from cull the weak and +20% from steady aim that are almost always active for you.

I like the cut of your jib sir, might change out a few defensive skills but overall good stuff.
