Diablo® III

Attack speed on weapon

Weapon A: 1000 dps
1.25 attacks per second
+25% attack speed

Weapon B: 1000 dps
1.00 attacks per second

The question is... Will weapon A scale better with dexterity than weapon B? or is the weapon dps the bottom line and it doesn't matter if it has attack speed or not.

the weapons dps is based on the weapon's stats, not your own stats. so I usually just ignore the dps on the weapon and just look at the stats themselves.

also attack speed, min and max damage are all calculated with the weapon's attributes taken into consideration

take a look at the recurve bow and legendary longshot in the guide here. if you add the attributes from longshot to the recurve bow, you'll find that the attack speed and min and max damage and even the dps will become the same.

i find that this is a poor design and they should change it cuz its misleading because it makes having the values on the attributes becomes worthless and essentially a double post

The attack speed is better.
