Eh, I got my plans off my first Izual Nightmare kill.

I have gotten to Diablo @Infero, and i can buy the recipe ''Hellish Staff of Herding'' at the vendor who sells healthpots, by the Heart on the map in town.

Yeah, that's noted in the guide, you just have to kill Diablo on Hell for those to appear, if you kill him on Inferno, the Inferno plans appear.

I've done more than 300 runs yesterday and got nothing. Today just signed in and it dropped for the first try.

I finally got Chiltara after ~20 runs. I've seen screenshots showing it as a quill demon, but I had it as one of them other demons (the bigger ones that stand up and lash at you), FYI

The only person i've been a douchebag to is NukemDukem, he's the only person that's posted a video, basically... of my guide, I don't want this... You can find a video of the level anywhere. When I write guides, I want them clear, up-to-date, and well writen. I don't want to throw people a video and say "Watch this noob."

This guide is great but I'm still confused. I'm currently act 2 nightmare, about to finish actually, but I want to go back and gather the ingredients in normal mode to build the staff. I'm level 45 or so with a ton of gear and I'm afraid by 'replaying a campaign' I will lose a ton of stuff. What do you lose exactly by going back and replaying. For example I want to go back to normal mode to the cathedral to start at gathering the mushrooms but I have no idea what will happen if I choose to restart or whatever from there. Nothing will happen, you will just lose progress on your current quest.
you won't lose any gear or anything, just your current quest progress.

I was having a very difficult time getting the plans from Izual as well. Tried around 50 times with no luck. Then, the ONE time i got a shrine that gave me boosted MF the plans dropped. For those of you having trouble, try boosting your MF. It's not like you need good gear for normal Izual anyway.

I had around, 0 to 3% magic find when my plans dropped from Izual, on my first kill, in nightmare.

I was having a very difficult time getting the plans from Izual as well. Tried around 50 times with no luck. Then, the ONE time i got a shrine that gave me boosted MF the plans dropped. For those of you having trouble, try boosting your MF. It's not like you need good gear for normal Izual anyway.

Could be just coincidence I agree, my buddy found it his first run with 0% mf. Just giving other options because I know it can be frustrating.
