What is the trade off for Spirit resource

Hm, it seems the system doesn't like long questions.

After reading people talk about the Tranquility "bug", I tried both a low level ranger and a low level wizard and was surprised to see their tool tip describe their major resource as a fast regenerating resource.

What do monks gain as the trade off for having to generate all of their Spirit through combat?

lots of pain and suffering.. and face palming when you see shielded elites.. or any elites for that matter lol

Monks and Barbarians get to put on their helmets and floaties and run out into traffic. The other classes get nuke everything from orbit.

is there a positive trade off? are our CDs lower? do our skills more powerful? Do our spell effects (buffs and hexes) last longer? etc

That's exactly the problem with the melee classes.

To regen their resource they are forced to stand toe to toe against elite mobs that can 2-3 shot them just to regen. While Wizard and DH can kite around regen all day long....

The ONLY trade off, is that Blizzard made the melee classes take like 30% (don't remember the ammount) less dmg than ranged classes.
