Google Play Authenticator for Andriod

Greetings,

I know that Blizzard offers an android version of their Authenticator on Google Play. Has anyone tried to install Android on your Mac or PC, then install this app onto your system? I was wondering if this might be an option for tech savvy users out there who don't have a smart phone/tablet and don't want to buy an authenticator.

This is something I might try, even though I already have one. Just curious.

It's impossible to install Android and boot it in the way you would OSX or Windows (which boot very differently, but all differences aside...).

If you're talking about virtualization, you may be able to run android on a virtual platform.

Then there's bluestacks

Which really doesn't concern you unless your running Windows 8 (the chances are slim you are)

Bluestacks runs android games as though they were windows games.
So theoretically, you could probably use that to get an activator.

It's not 100% fool proof though, so your luck may vary.

Best of luck you you on your nutty tinkering haha

Open source authenticator software based on public PKI cryptography? Not a bad start...

You realize that this defeats the purpose of the authenticator, right?

The idea is for the authenticator to be seperate from your computer, so if your computer happens to be compromised.. you have a fallback 'login info'.

It can be done, but I really don't understand the point of doing it...

It would be useful for someone who satisfies all 3 statements:

1. Doesn't own a smart phone
2. Wants to use RMAH
3. Doesn't want to purchase an authenticator

Yes you can use the pay pal option for the rmah. And it just sends a one time code to your cell phone. I believe thats what he meant.
