When everyone reaches level 60, and realizes the following:
- Melee have no place in end-game - Wizards are just glass cannons that can blast through anything but can't get hit - what fun is that? I'm thinking of my old Sorceress with energy shield and stormshield who would own anything and take some serious hits - Demon hunters are also glass cannons but their glass is easily broken unless they spec preperation and smoke screen - There's no point to MF because blues and rares are superior to legendaries - There's no sense of community - you can't 'create a game', invite newbs to give frees out, rush low levels, show off your char in a real chat And the most important thing: - Levelling is painful. The dungeon-like maps that make up 90% of the world, the repeated quests, the inability to simply go to the WP and go to any act at any location and just KILL ANYTHING to level up with a group - There's nothing to look forward to in end-game The population of this game is going to decrease by 90%. All of my friends who were excited for diablo 3 are barely online anymore. Questing isn't fun. 99% of builds aren't viable, you are forced to go boring and defensive. Items aren't fun. I don't know what the designers of this were thinking, or why the QA department didn't tell them 'this sht is boring, you need to change this before release' EDIT: And this is coming from a d2 veteran and a fanatic diablo fan who was following diablo 3 for 4 years on an almost daily basis on fan sites. EDIT: 2nd edit a day later, correcting myself... Wizards are not glass cannons, there is a specific build and setup (almost an exploit) that allows them to perma-tank anything in inferno on any act

Agreed unfortunately. I really want this game to succeed and I really hope they are listening to the feedback. I'm over 50 hours at lvl 60 barb and echo the same concerns.

22k hp, 4k armor, 52 wizard.

I almost found myself agreeing with a Nightelf Hunter.
What has this world come to. |
|
|
I agree somewhat, each hero is forced into a particular gear/build.

|
|
Agreed. Its sad, but it is what it is.
|
It is extremely sad, I took today off as a day of mourning - words cannot describe how eagerly I was waiting for this game and how many years I planned to commit to it. |
|
|
this will happen but i doubt it'll be 2 weeks. it'll probably be more like a month or so, depending on how soon/successful pvp goes. if pvp balance it crap, this game will hemorrhage players. if pvp is well done, this game has a chance.
|
Everyone talks about PvP, but in all honestly, look at the state of the game. This is how PvP is going to be like: - Wizards are going to 1 shot everything and get 1 shotted - If they scale damage down, with the "Arenas" they will add, and no ladders or any sense of PvP achievement, it will become like wow full of LOS - There will be no viability because there are no skill trees or synergies, just look at what happens to "throw barbs": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlIfuQhISVs - Levelling and MFing is not fun, everyone is the same, there is no goal to 'own' in PvP. There will be about 3 or 4 viable class-builds and it will be boring. It looks like we're at a point of no return unless a major free patch is released, and I mean major. |

Sad but true about character balance. Sensing a major melee buff. Forget PvP for now.
I have over 50,000 HP, 10,000 dps, and 6000 armor as a level 60 barbarian and I am still getting piled and taken out in a few seconds on inferno. I am sure it is not my build, considering I used both defense, regen and a blend. But yeah, sucks to be melee sometimes.

The game isn't going to die but they have A LOT of work to do to make it last.

They really missed the point of Diablo.
There's no customization past nightmare. Everyone is forced into the same specs because you need your highest DPS abilities and mass survability because you can constantly get 2 shot. There's no point to get different gear for different specs. Gear devolves into vit, your main stat, armor/resistance and weapon DPS. Nothing else is viable in Inferno. There's no interesting attributes. Everything that's not a pure stat is useless. +health globe? +gold pickup radius? Useless. Legendaries are so bad that all people care about are rares/blues. Farm runs devolve into hoping one of the 3 rares that drop is a good roll and vendoring legendaries. What's to keep me playing? Hoping the next blue/yellow is a good roll? That's not why I played D2. I played D2 for the runes/unqiues/set piece and the super-duper special rare that was rolled so incredibly well that it dominated over everything else. D3 doesn't have that. There's no loot lust. There's no incentive to try out different gear sets. There's no customization in skills because 80% of your skills are not viable in Inferno. There's no sense of community because Battle.net 2.0 is terribly designed. What happened to Diablo? Why did the series take such a step backwards?

I decided to stop wasting time playing this thing, it's nothing like d2, it's just a washed out memory with nice graphics.
Wouldn't even know where to start with how bad and limiting it is. As for the people who think the game rocks, they probably never had the joy of playing d2, or if they did, it was offline or in some other way of doing it wrong. I, as well, have been waiting for this game for many years, thinking it will be DIABLO 3! instead it turned out to be a crappy game with a silly skill system, tons of limitations and being a diablo game only with the name. Anyway, to all the people that are still gonna play it, enjoy! I'm gonna stop playing until it ends up to be the game they made us think it will be. |

They really missed the point of Diablo. I'm a little disappointed with this myself, particularly the legendaries. Stormshield is the only item worthwhile for barbarians defense that top all other shields. Legendary weapons are generally topped by about 200-400+ dps for any other rare 2h barb weapon. At least give the legendaries special set effects or insane bleed/stun/crit boosts and effects. Legendaries are a bit overpriced and pathetic right now. |

Cause D2 pvp was so great right? oh 99% of the time it was someone going hostile on you and killing everyone during a boss fight.......yea thats a lot skill required there
I love how everyone is commenting on the PvP system when we've only seen a preview of it and it isnt even in the game yet. All we know is the following...... -Shortly after release there will be a big balance and bug fix patch -PvP patch will be here in a few months aka "soon" and will feature the 2nd big balance pass -PvP arena's will consist of a death match style where the team with the most kills at the end wins -PvP arena's will have 3s respawns after you die -PvP arena's will have some CC duration reductions -Dueling is coming in a patch |

D3 currently has a lot of issues and suffers from some pretty dumb design decisions but honestly now, D2 consisted of doing 32536 meph runs on your Blizzorb sorc so you could get items for whatever "whacky" build you came up with.

They really missed the point of Diablo. Its pretty clear the game was designed to force people into the RMAH But as it is, its not going to because people arent going to bother. |
