Diablo® III

Graphic Card recommendations?

Sorry to ask such a trivial questions, but I really rely on the community for such advice as I don't know too much about computers.

My current graphic card is -

EVGA 896-P3-1170-AR GeForce GTX 275 896MB 448-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

my power supply is a 650w antec.

Looking for a good upgrade to, of course, run diablo3 better. I would really appreciate any specific recommendations. Generally I like to purchase hardware that is in that sweet spot between price/performance.

The "sweet spot", "best bang for the buck" is currently HD 6870 / GTX 560

ahh, that was the very one I was eyeing! Let me ask you this, they have the 'superclocked' version which is $30 more here

is it worth the extra $30 for the upgraded card?

I have no idea, really. I guess it just comes down to personal tastes. Considering that the new 600 nvidia line came out recently, I would be hesitant to put too much of an investment in the 500 line. That's just me though. As for the 560ti, however, depending on your CPU/RAM, you should get pretty good results on most of the newer games.

My wife's machine is a bit old, she's using the (single) 560ti I linked above, a Phenom 980 quadcore CPU (3.7Ghz, not OC'd), and 8gigs of Corsair Vengeance DD3 - she can play SWtoR with everything on high (minus shadows) and averages 40 to 70 FPS, Skyrim at Ultra with minimal stuttering, and D3 everything maxed (including shadows) runs without a hitch.

I am not certain how intensive D3 is on other rig components, though. I'd be cautious about possibly throwing away dough on a graphics card if your CPU/RAM is just going to create a bottleneck. Just something to consider.

thanks so much for your advice =)

I got this processor

Intel Core i7-860 Lynnfield 2.8GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor

and 8 gigs of this ram G.SKILL 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600)

do you think the GTX 560 Ti would still be a good choice?
