Energy Armor not working as intended?

Amount of damage absorbed from a single attack will now cap at 100% of a player's maximum Life


If that's the case then if I don't get 1 shot shouldn't i be taking 35% of my health? then why am i still getting hit for 90% of my life in 1 shot instead of only taking 35% health? I'm not being one shot but force armor is also not working as intended..

Because the amount of damage which is absorbed by the blow can only be as high as your maximum health.

Let's say you have 10,000 health. You have this skill on and a guy hits you for 5,000. It will absorb 1,500 damage and you take 3,500 damage (35% of 10,000).

Now, let's say you're at full life again and the guy hits you for 19,000. You will take 9,000 damage, only 10,000 gets absorbed, because you only have 10,000 life (the cap of 100% of your max life).

^ I believe that is not right either.

Your example: 10000 life and you get hit for 19000 you would take 3500 (35% of 10000) and then an additional 9000 damage since the 9000 bypasses the 100% cap (9000 + 3500 = one shot).

So a better example would be 10k health and then getting hit for 15k. you take 3500 + 5000 = 8500 not one shot but still 85% damage in one hit.
