ok so this thread started with my theory of black rock ledgers being related to the lyceum . but it got flushed down the drain when Blizz released the info that the Lyceum was only bugged :( (thanks to Makya and Lacerta for relaying the info )

Now this thread is about gathering new theories , info , suspicious items , how to get them ....

There seem to be a lot of new people who enjoys coming in here and telling us this and that. Truth be told, if you newcomers had read the original post, there'd be no real use of your posts.

We know about The Clipper being a Borderlands reference, but it might be of use to us aswell.
We know that the numbers represent people in the TV-show Lost. However, the numbers has multiple uses in the show which means that they doesn't have to represent people in the game.

You get my point. So if you're a newcomer, welcome to the thread but please read the original post first before filling up this thread with information that's already well-known.

Lore Items :

we all wonder why is there lore items ?!?!, at some point in beta some of them were legendary , one is used in an achievement , the splintered Oar only appeared in retail version .... one thing for sure they are mysterious , I personally started to doubt that they can be used with the ledgers since none of them are account bound ( all the staff materials are bound and so are the ledgers )

- The splintered oar :
From Kingsport to Kurast we sail. From Lut Gholein to Skovos we roam. When the wind's not blowing, we'll row our damned way home!" -The Sea Trader's Song ( thx Ojikori for mentioning this item )

-griswold's worn edge :
" a well-made sword worn down from countless battles . the symbol of the famous blacksmith griswold is etched into the blade "

-rakanishu's blade :
" Rakanishu , lord of the fallen, drove his minions to frenzied battle. they could often be heard scremaing his name as they rushed head long to their deaths.

-wirt's original leg:
"once belonging to a disgruntled lad name wirt , this leg was amputated after he suffered grievous wounds at the hands of demonic torturers near the town of tristram . "

-The Clipper :
" don't drop it ..... might lose a toe . "
( clipper was a very fast sailing ship of the 19th century used for trading ...... the Black Rock is a Clipper !!!! yay we got ourselves a boat !!!! )
(We do know it's a reference to the borderland game , but maybe it's not just an Easter Egg !!! )

hell , act 1 , event after talking to the ferry man in Act 1 (hell) , in front of Wortham Cathedral , 1 of the 3 special mobs

The Clipper : lvl 14 , 1h dagger

The Unique monster "Nine Toads, Terror of the Borderlands"
found while looking for Zoltun Kulles' blood. When we entered the desolate sands we ran into a champion called "Nine-Toads"

Griswold Worn Edge : lvl 1 , 1h sword
normal , act 1 , old tristram
will spawn on an anvil of fury

rakanishu's blade : lvl 16 , 1h sword
normal , act 2 , dahlgur oasis,
used for bashanishu achievement

how to farm the ledgers

the ledgers can be found at any difficulty , they are account bound but you can trade them by dropping them on the floor ( i didn't test it )

Act II the City of Blood mission - go through the kasim outpost east gate
you are now in the east Stinging Wind and just had a checkpoint to reappear 3 seconds away from where you want to go !!!

- go to your right , the second rock could be the ship (thx Damian )

- go to the southwestern corner the big rock could be the ship ( thx Thalack )

- There are other spawn points , at least 3 more but running those 2 should take about 45 to 60 seconds to run , flush and reload ( it personally took me 7 hours to get them all , some ppl say it took them 2 hours and less , plz be patient and this is not a bragging competition and don`t get discourage !!! )

Little bit of a stretch, but two things.

1. While reading through d3db, came upon mention of a random dungeon which links to the Black Canyon Mines. Looking for links now.

2. If you look at the 3d model for the Secret Dungeon Map (http://d3db.com/item/i/secret-dungeon-map) it has a miner's pick on the cover. It also looks like the actual Black Rock Ledger which was used in the show, a lil bit.

Edit: Ok, the dungeon is called Blood Cellar. The reason I was drawn to this one is because there is an NPC called Survivor in there.. seemed logical. Since it's tied to BC Mines, and what I mentioned above, I just thought I'd throw it out there.

Theory #2 and #6 are the same tbh.
