Diablo® III

Entitlement: Where did it come from?

05/31/2012 06:54 PMPosted by kevmonster
only entitlement i felt is when i spent $60 on a game, i expect it to work. I'm willing to accept the risk that i will be disappointed with the game play, story, etc. but i do believe that from a business standpoint i am a paying customer who buys a product with the expectation that the product should work.

But it does work. As far as technical problems go, there have been far worse games out there. Are you complaining that because you can't play every minute of every single day, the game is fundamentally broken?

The game was down for close to 12 hours yesterday.

Becquerel#1509 reported for open racism.

You can keep lying and back peddling if you want to. If so I'm just going to go a few pages back and copy/paste the post were you showed all when it comes to how big of a racist/bigot you are.

Yeah, Affirmative Action and Welfare giving you free handouts; you are so bigoted against! Life must hard being able to go to college without paying a single penny WITHOUT a Scholarship.

On a serious note, this guy is probably white himself, ironically; and is pretending to be some "thug gangsta!!!" at his computer screen.

You made some pretty revealing assumptions that:
1) Minorities have it easier.
2) I am receiving welfare or affirmative action
3) assuming every member of a minority receives full scholorship
4) that anyone who cares about racial inequality is a "thug"

check your privilege bro, grats on your racism

uhhhh minorities are giving the vast majority of free handouts. The US supreme court deemed it so, and is an absolute fact. White students with a 4.0 GPA are passed up for scholarships for somebody thats a minority gets it with a 3.0 GPA. I'm not saying anything about this being wrong or not. I'm just validating the guy you bashed for no good reason.

I'm sure the whole time the servers were down Blizzard was throwing a 12 hour rager and not working on the servers themselves.

Crazy person

I'm glad you like me so much Mike, I must have really gotten through to your shriveled, racist little heart.

Edit: The concept of white-privilege freaks a lot of people out.

So calling you out for obvious racist remarks makes me a racist...

You were the one attacking people for their skin color. I'm posting your blizzard ID so nobody forgets the day a genuine racist(Becquerel#1509) trolled the forum

From what I understand, the game is having major issues in the EU. Those people are rightly mad if they can't play their game.

Just remember folks. Games are products. You had a choice and you chose to purchase the product. If you're dissatisfied, that's too bad. Nobody is obligated to please you. I'm sure Blizzard would prefer to please everyone, but that's simply not possible.

Games a products.... true

We chose to purchase the product... true

If you aren't satisfied with the product, too bad.... wait, what?

Name another industry besides the entertainment industry that behaves this way. If you buy a car, you get to take it for a test drive. If you are about to buy food, you "usually" get to ask for a sample. These allow the consumer to make an informed decision about their purchase. In the entertainment industry, such doesn't and can't happen. You can't tell a movie by its trailers, and you can't tell Diablo 3 by its demo, if many of the complaints are about inferno.

And people wonder why piracy runs so rampant in the entertainment industry. What part of "informed consent" do people fail to understand these days?

They could've waited and used a free trial from a friend. Or downloaded one. Your argument is invalid.

I don't think you really understand what 'entitlement' is, it's a flavour of the month word on the internet that has become way overused.

The 'entitlement' came with the $120 I paid for the game. If I paid for a car and it wasn't what was advertised I'd want a refund or any problems fixed.

The gaming market is a competitive one, there are other options available, if this game isn't up to a standard that I feel makes it worth spending my time on I have a right to complain and if Blizzard wants to remain a successful company they better acknowledge that as a community a lot of people are disgruntled and if they don't address problems we will move onto these other options.

Affirmative Action is illegal in Michigan, Washington, and California, to name a few.

I just bought a new TV.. I think I'm entitled to have it come with functioning screen

I just bought a new car.. I think I'm entitled to have it come with functioning brakes

I just bought a new house.. I think I'm entitled to have it come with a functioning roof

I just bought a new coffee from speedway.. I think I'm entitled to have it (at the time purchased) hot

I just bought a new game.. I think I'm entitled to the features (including playability) that it lists.

Do you have any links to the EU Issues? I'm not denying them, I just want to see what the downtime is like for them. I haven't been keeping tabs on other realms other than the americas.
