Diablo® III

upgrade question

i have a really out dated graphics card and wanted to upgrade mine ive found 2 worth looking into but not sure on which one i should get

a friend requested this one:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/PNY+-+GeForce+GT+430+1GB+DDR3+PCI+Express+Graphics+Card/2265044.p;jsessionid=5A1527432220FBFFDE461BE6A7CF6FFE.bbolsp-app04-11?id=1218317314615&skuId=2265044&st=pci%20express%201.0%20graphicscards&cp=1&lp=2

and ive found this one:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/XFX+-+Radeon+HD+6750+1GB+DDR3+PCI+Express+Graphics+Card/3504394.p?id=1218407010812&skuId=3504394&st=pci%20express&cp=1&lp=3

im just curious as to which would be the better buy. I'm pretty much playing diablo 3 on the lowest settings @ 20FPS so anything would most likely be better than what I'm currently using.

lets hear your oppinions.

6750 would destroy GT 430 all day and night.

However, you need to be mindful of your computer case ( slim case, or fat mid tower ) and the power supply inside your computer. Buying graphics cards without knowing that information first can be a frustrating exercise for you.

What is your CPU, out of curiosity?

250W means you are limited to at most, Radeon HD 7750, and even then, may be a little iffy, but should generally work.

Forget about 6750 with a 250W power supply.

430 is weak.

400W (80 Plus Bronze certified) with one 6-pin PCI-E power plug at minimum.

It must be 80 Plus Bronze certified. Avoid Dynex at all costs.

Buy from NewEgg or some other online store where there are more options to be had.

That said, Radeon HD 7750 performs on par or better than HD 6750 without having to replace your power supply.

i dont have a pci E 3.0 connector or the radeon hd 7750 would be a better choice. i only have a PCI E connector thats why i was looking at the 6750

and could u link me to a decent choice of power supply im not understanding the 80 plus bronze certified.

PCI-E slots are forward and backward compatible

It means the HD 7750 will work fine with your PCI-E 2.0 slot in your PC

in the specs it just says its PCI express x16 or would that also be the 2.0.

im really newbie at this so sorry for all the questions.

Yeah, it has to be 2.0 because it's an Athlon II-based PC. 1.0 is used in really ancient PCs.

x16 is just the maximum bandwidth the slot is capable of. Only graphics cards go into them anyway.
