Session Spoofing

OMG!! Did you just link to some blog as proof? A blog that sites FORUM post as evidence?

LOL...
Bad or struggling news/gaming sites like this routinely post controversial unverified information to attract readers. I'm not saying Blizz security is perfect, because it's not. (Capping logon attempts anyone? SteamGuard like system?) But some of that just smacks as completely made up.
This guy... uses a FORUM POST as his source......

Blizz is going to deny it but when !@#$ is published in Forbes, I mean...that's really, really not good.

That Forbes article is a joke and a sham. The person who wrote it isn't even a real journalist - he's a contributor.

right, becuase blizz wouldn't lie about their game getting hacked to keep people calm and happy now would they?

These are hackers, their goal is to get your best items, get out before you change password.

Actually, their goal is to get money, and deliver it to a buyer they have an order from as quickly as possible before Blizzard shuts down every account associated with the hack. They don't get good gear to sell on the AH, that would take too long. They take orders in increments of millions of gold, so mostly they are after the gold in your stash, the stuff on your character won't vendor for very much, but it's enough that they're willing to take the time to vendor everything in your stash and on your char. But at that point they have almost all the value out of your account, the clock is ticking, they're better off moving to another account (and it's stash) than to take the time logging all the chars for the vendor value of their gear and inventory.

Small operations that have a limited supply of compromised accounts and that do the hacking by hand will completely strip an account. But the big guys don't bother. They have plenty of accounts, they just need to get the stripped as quickly as possible to fill big orders.

Common sense and an ounce of deductive reasoning.

Stop spreading this rumor, it's not true and it's scaring people away from public games and harming their enjoyment of the game. Stop being douchebags.

They wouldn't because they CAN'T, it's ILLEGAL, they would not get away with it! They would not do it for that very reason, hell Sony is in a lot of trouble right now because they tried to cover up a security breach where all their users information was compromised, you think Blizzard would try the same thing? They are not that stupid. This is a very serious issue and them lieing about it would cost them way too much to be worth it.
