So I'm switching to sword and board for act 2 and onwards after comfortably farming act 1 with a 2 hander. My current stats with the 2 hander are something like 6.5k armor, 600-650 all resist and 35k life buffed with my weapon providing very little in the way of stats. I will have about 2-2.5 million to spend when I get home from selling some stuff. How much of it should I devote to a good one hander and how much to a good shield and what quality should I be looking for? Any insight is appreciated.

Honestly, I came to a sad realization today.
If you're playing solo and want to progress in late act 2 and higher, you're really not doing yourself any favors buying things that are less than ~2 mil or so normally.
Buy a sword for 2 mil, buy a 200k shield, then farm for 3 more days and buy a shield for 2 mil, otherwise you're going to be doing this again come the switch to act 3.
Okay. To me the market for weapons is all over the place. What should I expect for 2 million on a one hander in terms of dps or stats and can I expect it to last longer than act 2? Seems to vary a lot on the AH.
