Up until this point, I've been basically using what I'd like to refer to as the 'cookiecutter' DH build (Devouring, NT, Archery, Steady, Sharpshooter, etc.). The general idea of this build would be to keep enemies constantly feared while hopefully dealing enough damage to drop them over time.
-Use screaming skull to fear incoming baddies, switch to spray of teeth (or devouring or bola of choice) when they retreat.
-vengeance for extra hatred, bat for hate regen (possibly +hate regen gear), prep/punishment for emergency OOH use.
-lingering fog, stampede for bailout/retreat.
I know that people tend to poo-poo the bat at this point in the game, but I'm hoping that, with careful hate mgmt, the extra boost would still be helpful. You'd only use skull to fear incoming enemies and then switch off to the primary of your choice for additional regen.
What do you guys think? Would you be able to drop packs in what would certainly be long'ish fights without completely burning through hatred? Or is this build just silly? Comments/suggestions welcome.
