Diablo® III

Language issues. (Error 81)

Guys, according to this thread:
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/5642270182

it won't be possible, at all, to play in English. In my ticket I have just asked for a definitive answer. If not possible, I have asked them to cancel my key, for I will try to return the game to the retail store. Maybe it's the only way out for us.

I hope at least they explain the reason behind such strange decision, because the translations are really hurting the gameplay experience

I'm having this problem too. The portuguese translation is too lousy in my opinion, it's not fair not letting us to decide what language we're playing the game we bought.

This is really frustating. When i bought the game online nowhere said that i had to stay only with one language. I'm felling completely cheated by Blizzard! Worst experience ever.

NOTE TO ALL:

I've had this problem since launch. I am living in Korea and bought Diablo with a Korean account, so I have been forced to play in Korean. I should've bought it with my New Zealand account from the beginning.

I have submitted MANY tickets asking for this to be changed. They have changed my account's region to New Zealand, but my Diablo key remains in Korean and they are UNABLE to change it. They tried, and they said they are unable to bypass it.

I have downloaded both the US and EU clients, but when I try log in with English, it has this error. So it doesn't matter which client you download/use. It will not work.

I am very unhappy about this as I have spent lots of time and effort into my character, but entirely in Korean. I have not been able to understand the story, and have learned item stats off by heart........

Hey all,

This problem has been around for some time now...

I made a thread about it, a lot of people replied ( http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/5578597286 ), but Blizzard is just irresolute. I guess they will not change it at all.

There is also this thread: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/5642270182

In other words, Blizzard is saying: "Oh, you bought a physical copy? There's something called language restriction in that, did you know? OH, YOU DIDN'T? Maybe that's because we never mentioned it in the first place! But who cares, right? I mean, if you can play the game in the settings we choose, it's ok. See if we care. This is Blizzard after all, and you have just been scammed."

Have the same problem here. Played without any problems on Thursday using an English language client. On Friday morning when I tried to login I have been greeted with a well known error. Seriously, if there is one rule, it is the one that you don't change the rules during the play. Just give me the choice, give me an information about what I am really buying. One day I have multilanguage client, next day locked to one language. If I knew this beforehand, I would just not buy the game. But of course, there was not a single warning, single notice, anything. Bllizard with a single decision left me empty-handed. I can't get my money back and I can not play the game. I have never been so scammed like this. Thank you Blizzard.

And that's how they get "the fastest profit in game industry ever". With our scammed-out money.

The most ridiculous part is that it was working until yesterday. Why on earth would they change it now?
I can't believe this game is really from Blizzard. Since Activision bought it the quality is decreasing.

This issue is NOT only for the physical copy. It was with any key purchased under such an account.

This is ridiculous. We paid for it, if we want to play in english, chinese or norwegian it's up to us!
Blizzard fix this immediately!

It's acceptable to have all these translation packs coming along with the game, but it's more than reasonable allowing people to choose whatever language they what!

Yes, it is more than reasonable.
But I´m sorry, it collides with Blizzard´s goals for absolute, unquestionable, and reckless maximization of its profit.

We´re very sorry for any confusion in the matter!
